Its out in places already, should hopefully see it soon. I guess its quite a beast though and even has issues with laptops? Probably explains their recent move to release a "laptop" friendly version.
They must be doing something horrible with the engine because we know maxis can't optimize worth shit.

Spore? Expansions? How exactly that's going to happen, when most things inside the game are things you have created yourself, or directly downloaded from other users through the game?

There's always room to add more to a game, even for a game as dynamic as Spore. They can always add more parts/weapons to the game. I don't remember if they have mentioned if underwater cities are in the game, but if it's not, then they could always add that in an xpack

AFAIK Maxis hasn't planned any Xpacks to Spore

I can only care to get my hands on the damn thing, I can't worry about expansions as much as I'll be wasting precious time just building the monstrosity I'm going to call beloved creature and then putting it to action. Woo.
Yeah. Woo.

This thread isn't about Spore....
Looking forwards for this seasons exp, this is something they should have added a long time ago without it being an expansion.

I haven't played sims since...
Yeah since the very first sims that came out in 2000.
When my sister plays it and I pass by, I close my eyes so that the evil won't steal my soul.

I just looked at the prices for the XPacks (all of them) for The Sims 2 at different local stores, and it seems like they all still costs almost as much as when they were new. University and Nightlife being the cheapest still costs $44 USD, while all the other XPacks costs $62 USD
Is this the same everywhere?

Pointless. No one cracks the patches, unless someone finally started. Maxis always patches as the game is always buggy as shit.

On play.com you can get the whole series for 14.99 GBPs each. I think considering that it's still a very good game - and that it hasn't aged at all - this is a good price. On the otherhand as there is so many expansions it would be niec to have a GOLD PACK or something which includes everything and costs a lump, but discounted sum.

Yeah, that would be great, as currently it's a pain to reinstall the game

Even with that at this point I'm guessing at least 3 DVDs for a bundle of everything with a cost of ...hrm... $350 for all new, give or take, so maybe what? $250 for a very generous deduction? I just don't see it selling...

how come you know, that they are not going to crack the patches? there hasn't been another patch out since RLD started to crack the expansions, so you can't really tell.

He is talking generally. And he is right, cracked updates are rare to come by these days.
