Lazy webmaster? Laughing

I just looked at the screenshots from E3 2006, and man... unbelievably fucking ugly. This game better have some superuberduper gameplay mechanics to make up for that PUKE ON MY MONITOR.

The game was supposed to come out in 2004.
Then it got delayed to early 2005, and then late 2005.
Then early 2006, and now they say fall 2006.
The map is almost done, so there's only some small shit left with the game.

I've been following this game since they first announced it in 2002-2003 Razz

Let's hope it's better than those 18wos games.

to bad there's only those gay american trucks in the game Sad

I hate you.

Well if your not a truck game fan then why bothering posting here.

Rig N Roll News: We hope to upload development update this week. All the materials are prepared, only some technical job of our web master is left.

We are completing game world development. Our testers already drive along all roads, but some part of them are not yet all ready. We have a big task concerned with night view of our cities and the most of our designers are currently involved in this task.

Also we are working on some script missions, characters animations and economic balance of the game. As for date - it is not yet announced. Please be patient!

I found something interesting at the official Rig'n'Roll forum. Well the Russian forum that is linked at www.rignroll.com Here is the url of the forum. http://forums.games.1c.ru/?type=topics&gid=31&tid=

I go there all the time and look for news, but usually they get their news from Truckpol, but for once we can take something from them.

Here is the translation of an article published at a Russian media news website.

"News" July 28, 2006

The head of the department of licensing and promotion of 1C Nikolay Barishnikov is estimating, that the biggest hit on the western market will be "Dalnoboyshiki-3: Conquest of America", which is being developed by Softlab-nsk and will be published by 1C. The release of the game is being planned for fall of 2006.

According to the words of Barishnikov, even Dalnoboyshiki-2 had a big success in the USA, but the next version of the game is made especially for the American market.

The original article in Russian can be found at this link. http://www.bit.prime-tass.ru/news/show.asp?id=41628&ct=news

So even 1C the publisher says the game will be released in fall of 2006. The release date is up to the publisher so I think this is the truth. Yes it is already fall, but fall has 3 months. Also I think the lack of news at the official site can be explained by the probability that the game is almost finished.

Bad New: Some guy emailed to the PR manager for 1C Company about Rig N Roll. And this is the message he got from them:''The guys from the dev team have been working hard recently therefore they didn’t have much time for the updates. The game is still in development and is scheduled for an early 2007 (Q1) release.'' SadI'm tired of waiting, they keep lying to us Ive been told that they were going to get released since the Q1 of 2003, then 2004, 2005,2006 and now 2007? Should we expect 2008 too...

yeah, when you make such a big territory available for free roam it takes time. It's the old dilemma - while you make a big map the industry makes a big step ahead gfx-wise and you need to retexture and partially remodel the whole stuff and it takes time again and so on and so on...

On the official 1C forum for Rig'n'Roll a member who has visited this expo in Moscow actually got to play the RnR demo.

He wrote a short review. Here is a translation of his review. I think I will ask him to give a more detailed review if he can.

Ok guys its like this. Today I been to the IgroMir Game Expo in Moscow. About our beloved Rig'n'Roll. Beautiful graphics. Quality of the picture a solid 4 out of 5. The weather effects are incredible. The rain was very realistic. There were actually puddles on the road during the rain.

The night looked very beautiful. The landscape (natural scenery) was amazing. When it comes to the physics of the game, some work still needs to be done. Sometimes the trucks and cars jumped all over the place. But you have to remember that this is only the beta and many bugs are still yet to be worked out.

Oh yes and he gave an amazing gift to the entire trucking simulator community. He took his camera with him to the expo and filmed himself playing the RnR demo.

Its in avi format and at 320x240 and 5 frames a second. Here are the videos.

Rig'n'Roll video part 1

Rig'n'Roll video part 2

Rig'n'Roll video part 3

Rig'n'Roll video part 4

Rig'n'Roll video part 5

Rig'n'Roll video part 6

Rig'n'Roll video part 8

Rig'n'Roll video part 9

Rig'n'Roll video part 10

Thank you very much to 3dartpol for uploading these videos to Google video.

Here are some additional pictures from the Game expo.

Here is a link to the original post at the 1C forum. If you know Russian. http://forums.games.1c.ru/?type=thread&msgid=1703982

He also added that overall the game is realistic to 4.5/5. But there are still some bugs that need to be worked out.

He also said that there were many cars in the demo which are not listed at the official site, and that means we will never have to worry about there not being enough AI cars. You can see this in the videos if you look closely.

He also said that the game is fantastic, but there are bugs and many of them, but when they are fixed this will be the game of the year.
