this movie is unbeliaveble amazing, since the moment I first saw it, it was imediatly one of my favorite movies, really great story and a very important message for world.

looking back on it, its not a bad film, but it IS overhyped... its story is not as fresh or new as it pretends to be, its the same idea/story/backdrop as youve seen in a dozen other films... the dialogue is nothing special, the 1 fight that you see in the film is nicely shot, but hardly creative or exciting, the set designs and cinematography are very good but not great or anything amazing... the ONLY thing i can see thats really excellent in this, was hugo weavings performance...
overall, as i kinda said before, i enjoyed it, but its hardly a great film worth all the hype, its definately not a classic or a mindblowing film that says anything new...

Agree with Chiv. I liked it, but mostly my enjoyment is Hugo and Natalie, the rest is old.

its not about the man dangit, i thought thats what the whole film was pushing.
besides, you 'kinda' did, during the flashbacks... he's a wrinkled old charred prune basically... not much to see.

I gotta disagree here... The film has a remake/altered 1984 plot which is then again told quite unique; (constant quotations/referrences from count of monte christo) and a blend of todays world situation and political critizism, even a little "surprise" gets through. altogether I think we have a pretty good film with excellent plot, actors, writers and a quite good director.

Huge disappointment to me, i hoped it will be much better. The plot was nothing new, a guy fighting against a corrupt government blablabla. But then again, it had some nice action-scenes.
