I'm gonna say No, there hasn't been any news since E3 2003 that it'd be coming to PC. Maybe in the future.

MGS2 for the PC was shit. Leave the third one to the consoles.

MGS2 on pc wasn't that bad. very low res textures and crappy colors, but with a gamepad that game was very enjoyable. The story, the cinematics, <3 metal gear

There was nothing wrong with the pc version of MGS 2 Substance. Absolutely nothing. Controls were fine. Graphics were fine. Game play was fine.
Graphics: needed a mediocre vid card at the time for decent fps. (Everyone had decent fps)
Control: needed a game pad at the time (everyone has a game pad these days)
Game play: Exactly the same in the ps2
There was nothing wrong with the port. I don't see how you guys are complaining. I played it. It worked well for me. I enjoyed it. I bought it a week later.
Same shit with onimusha (sp) port for the pc. Why on earth did people hate it? The graphics were fine. Game play was exactly the same. And controls were, once again, fine if you had a proper game pad.
It costs 19.99 (CAD) for a Logitech PS2 game pad for the pc.
I for one would love to see MGS 3 substance for pc.

Metal Gear series debuted on the MSX2 Computer, then it was ported to NES, and PC version was third.

Lol. Who needs that "not Solid" crap? Anyone loves Duke Nukem because in 1991 we had lame arcade game Duke Nukem on our PCs? The Metal Gear series we all so love started on PS1. Period.

maybe for you. but MG has been good since the original. The only MG that stunk was the US version of MG2 aka Snakes Revenge

I think the MGS series is highly overrated, and that Kojima is a wannabe movie director (and a bad one, at that). But at the same time I feel like I am missing something if I don't play these games. It's a love/hate relationship.
MGS2 was a very interesting port. It required a patch to run properly on a lot of video cards, and some fiddling with some other stuff that I can't exactly remember right now. But once you got it going, the only problem was the lack of analog buttons which were on the PS2 pad, which made it downright impossible to play some of the VR missions. I think the first-person ones mostly.
The idea was that you hold down a button half way to aim the assault rifle, and fully compress it to fire. There was no good way to make that intuitive on the PC. It was also annoying to try to hold guards up until you got used to having one button to aim the gun and another to put it down without firing.
Anyway, I'd like to see MGS3 on the PC if only for the jungle gameplay, not the stupid over-the-top plot and characters. I'd take a bad port over no port.

Ports are shit, but ps2 emulators even worse |
Right now, yes, they are crap. But we all know what EPSXE can do with crappy PS1 games - high resolution, texture filtering, shader effects, save anywhere, online play etc. MUCH better than original Playstation can do. Wait and we will see awesome PS2 emulator sooner or later
