agle-eyed HEXUS forum member, Choo Choo, has spotted the Wii console for pre-order at the online superstore Shopto.net, for the princely sum of £149.99 and a release date of 15th October.
At E3, Sega hinted that Wii would retail at approximately $200, so a £149.99 price is slightly steeper than expected, but still way cheaper than both Sony and Microsoft's next-gen consoles. Are Shopto.net guessing? Or have they let the cat of the bag before Nintendo have had a chance to announce the price?
With games like Wii Tennis, Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption all receiving strong praise across the board from E3 attendees, Nintendo's console should fly off the shelf.
Incidently. Wii games are expected to retail at between £30-£50 in the U.K, this will vary depending on the title.
The figure indicated on this retail website does not necessarily mean that the price is finalised. We'll need to wait for official confirmation from Nintendo.

60-100 CAD a game?
Wtf?
I think I'll only be able to afford a wii and 2 games. I might have to pick between mario/zelda/rs/metroid 
fuck wii sport games look awesome too... FUCK! 
Might have to wait and see what the folks at gayspot and igayn say about the wii games.

Only reason I like red steel is because the controls are simple. Not like metroid where you have to look to the extreme left to actually turn left. It's rather annoying. Red Steel seems like an arcade shooter.
The controls are being revamped right now. Might end up better than at E3, but who knows... right?
I’ll still pick it up at a budget price. Doesn’t look awful. And it seems fun.
And games should be fun.

£150 will be $150 and £30 a game will be $30 sounds good to me. either way it's going to be a lot cheaper for games and the hardware. Worth it too!

It can't be.
That's a huge loss. 150 (your funny money sign  ) is 300 CAD here.
If it were 150 CAD in GBP it would be 73 and 81 if it were 150 USD.
That's major. For you 150 will be 150. For me it'll be robbery I just want the console to be affordable... but at 300 a piece with 50 dollar games... It's not a next gen console... so for that price, it's seems to be worth getting an x360. I know it sounds foolish, but it’s true.
Maybe I'm wrong and maybe you're right... I hope you are. I can afford 200 CAD for the console... but 300 I'd be better off sending a letter to Santa.
