apart from Quake IV and Wolfenstein, what other games are going to use the Doom 3 engine?
Personally I'd love to see Heretic. Great game, better than the original doom somehow, and the dark moody lighting and weird spell effects and complex environments would look pretty cool...

Umm,Quake IV isn't going to use Doom 3 engine. From what I heard, on Id forum it's going to use it's own new engine.
I would like to see System Shock 3 in this engine, it's going to be spooky and surely a winner.

Interview on IGN seem to confirm Doom engine for Quake IV, might be wrong.
I've just had my first encounter with the floating tomato things in Doom 3 and really like the way they floated about blasting energy around the place. On my rig all the air distorts through heat effects and stuff, it's pretty awsome.
I just remember the floating warlocks in Heretic and thought how cool and scary they would look. There was lots of moving scenery in that game, which would look pretty amazing using the latest technology.

Quake 4 is going to use the Doom3 engine. Its been in development for about 2 years or so i think, and they're using a newer, more advanced version of the Doom3 technology.
Rumours say the engine will support destructive environment similiar to red faction. The thought isn't that surprising since D3 engine is the first engine to handle all pixels/polys exactly the same and in theory its possible to give every pixle/poly a physical property and let it react to things like gunshots (for deformation) or in the case of Doom3, dynamic light effects. Deformalbe environments aren't really a question of technology with the D3 engine, its more a question of performace.
back to your actual question: No other game announced so far. There were rumours about some adventure game using the D3 engine, since it also had great lightning effects. But I think they said it was there own engine.
A new system shock with the D3 engine... it would be kind of a logical partnership. Thief series would also do well with D3 engine.

some professional modeller brought out a high res texture pack for SS2.
Zombies and other creeps look really horrid. Gives some impression on how it could look.
First contact with them on the space station is just about the most chilling experience ever, and that includes any film I've seen.
Doom 3 looks good, but the engine seems better suited to gothic styling and mass detail. The Mars base just doesn’t seem to work so well, although the monsters are pretty good.
Zombie soldiers seem to be taken too much out of half life, and aren’t that smart and shocking.
Strangely enough I found the Alpha leek mere scary somehow, all the graphical polish is almost too good, and feels a little too stylised on the final release. I guess the predictable monster attacks don't help either.

I just would like to see a System Shock 3, but EA has no plans for it. =\
As for games using the Doom 3 engine? Eh, Don't really care as long as they use it wisely.

Let's hope someone will see the potential of SS3 and will buy the rights.
But it's not likely to happen.

All the recent Star Wars games have used a modified QuakeI II engine.
Hopefully they move to Doom 3 soon.

From what I have heard and read, Call Of Duty 2 will be using the Doom3 engine. Could have just been a rumor I read. But this would be great news for that game if true!!

damn that was a cool game wasn't it. Still way better than Thief and Doom 3 in terms of pure game play.
Some very intricate game and plot ideas in there, and totaly dripping in atmosphere. You really felt like you were marooned on a space station with only your wits to get you by.
Why can't publishers see how cool this sort of game is. Deus Ex 2 just failed on this can't so miserably, by trying to keep the console crowd happy.
Can't understand why the game wasn't a major success.

Bnf, AvP3 on a doom 3 engine would kick some serious ass, i second that. Imagine walking around the doom 3 levels with the beep of your movement tracker, scary stuff.

Two words.... Ultima Underworld. One of the best RPG FPS games of the early 90's, I don't see why not. The fact Origin was disbanded by EA doesn't help, but man o' man UUW was a damn good game.
Leading back to someones comments of Heretic.... Perhaps re-releasing Hexen, Heretic, Blood3D, Rise of The Triad or even Shadow Warrior, in the Doom3 engine would be good.
There is a lack of 1st person medieval games (unless you count thief 3).
A new Jedi Academy or Dark Forces would also be great using this engine.
