The year is 2008. Area between Iran, Afghanistan, India and China has
become the Democratic Republic of North Dzombystan (DRND). To get
financial aid from United States, DRNDs government allowed the US
military to build a top-secret subterranean base. But even DRNDs
government is unaware that the heavily fortified base is a research
center for genetic engineering on soldiers and testing lab for next-
generation weapon systems.

When terrorist infiltrators in the government learn of the base,
signal is sent to all freedom fighters to prepare for an all-out
attack. A well organized army launches a coordinated assault and
swiftly advances toward the secret base. American forces guarding the
base, taken by complete surprise and vastly outnumbered, put up a
fierce resistance but know full-well that it is only a matter of time
before they have to surrender or die fighting. With their forces tied
up in crisis areas around the world, and no time to wait for
deployment of regular troops, decision is made at the highest level of
US government to send in the elite AEGIS rapid response team.

I just got it, I'll set it up shortly. I wasn't the biggest fan of GC, but we'll see how this one goes.

It had some shitty reviews off of gamerankings.com (the two posted were 58% and 55%). That said, only two C class mags have reviewed them (PC Zone and PC Format UK), so its not as if I would trust their insight anyway. Let us know how it is.

RTS games without resource-gathering usually disappear very quick.

As far as i can recall Ground Control and GC2 are the only two RTS games I've ever enjoyed playing, simply because there's no base building or resource gathering. I'm gonna give this one a go even though it doesn't look as good as GC2 judging from the trailer.

Edit:
And it wasn't... In fact the only good thing about this game is that there's no resource gathering or base building.
I read somewhere that this was going to be the most realistic RTS this year but I dunno. When my AA vehicles started launching homing missiles at enemy infantry I exited and uninstalled. Laughing

Played the tutorial and first mission. Complete shit. Controls were bad, half the time selecting a unit didn't select it, voice commands were sketchy as hell, pathfinding was pretty horrid at times. The convoy moved up at one point and happened to stop completely surrounding my repair unit. So i coudln't move it until I could get the convey to move again, which resulted in my losing about half my units because I couldn't repair my vehicles on the go and I didn't feel like spending time sending them back to get repaired and sit around waiiting for them.

After the mission completed the game crashed after 10 seconds on the "goto next mission or goto menu" screen. Locked up the entire machine. was pretty sweet.
