Yes I tried searching (the thread may have been lost in that database issue) but the only threads that even have sickle in them are the two nightwatch threads.

I'm finally going to get around to trying this game out, and I know the game changes drastically depending on what you do in some of the missions, which can lengthen and shorten the game.

Is anyone aware of any kind of guides or walkthroughs that show what each choice in a mission will do to the length of gameplay or where it might lead?

try this as well.....

http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/6977/2037/1600/H%20&%20S%20plot%20diagram.1.jpg

its a chart explaining what happens if you take certain paths or don't achieve certain objectives and how they affect the game.

I recommend viewing this only after completing the game a few times using your own judgement during certain situations, using the flowchart to playthrough and simply pick what outcome you want removes what was such a great idea by the devs in the first place.

That link did not work starshine. I had to do walkthrough on the mission where they attack because I did not know I could get the people to help me. I died like 10 tens before I read the walkthrough and it was much easier for that mission.

Hey that is great. In all it seems like you could get involved in upwards of 32 missions. Are there any random encounters at all?

Not sure about random encounters, but its good that your enjoying the game. I saw alot of people dismissing it as too short and loads of poor reviews, its actually a pretty good game though once you realise how many different routes you can take through the game. Sure the storytelling is weak and downright confusing at times and the devs could have highlighted the multiple routes aspect of the game a little more in the manual but overall its a really enjoyable game.

Gotta love the ragdoll physics when you take out a bunch of soldiers with a grenade. Very Happy

well I'm a big fan of Silent Storm (I wish someone would release SS Gold or a clone of Sentinels as no one has cracked the patch for sentinels and I can't buy SS Gold anywhere around me). So I love the engine. Even at 32 missions without random encounters thats still lots of game. Unless you screw up the plot and get one of those quick endings, you still have 26 missions on the alternate path. I guess the point is don't act like a dumbass and there is lots of game there.

Ah, I totally messed it up. I'd read that if you went to zeizenburg you needed ally uniforms for all. I had 4 people and 3 uniforms and I coudln't find any anywhere. So I went back to the prison as I figured all those allies I could finish them off from the prison break. I managed to take them all out after a few reloads to get a good beginning (if they got first shot on interrupt I was pretty much dead, but if I got to go with all 4 I could take out enouhg that I could survive) and I had to kill an "unknown" or it wouldn't let me leave the map. After I left the map it was going to send me to the swamp so I just quit. I've got an earlier save I can go back to. But I'm at a loss as to where I can get ally uniforms, the walkthrough speaks about them like I should have them in spades.

I played it for a while aswell (few months back, when it came out) It's too bad the plot is so well hidden as the storyline, after i did some stuff i came at the bridge and stopped playing as it all felt kinda weird.

Might start over some time, as it still is the asskicking SS engine where u can shoot everything Very Happy

You can temp remove members of your party if you don't have enough uniforms just incase you hadn't tryed that. In the safe areas that have beds and storage lockers select the character you want to remove and click the bed - One such place is the first floor of the main building on the second mission where you rescue the girl then take her to the doctor. Wink

I'll maybe play through this again at some time during the weekend, I noticed since I last played the game an unofficial patch has been released.

Yeah. I got through all that but I had a problem with the wenzburg mission. According to the walkthrough I should show the picture to the forester then go right to wenzburg, which I did. I went to zberg, then the train and there I was. Yet it claims I was too late. Makes no sense.
I had to wait long enough for daytime so that I could buy passes from the guy, but I didn't show the picture to the forester until after that.

Further proof of how damn awesome this game is. I didn't get to Thor's Hammer's base in time so I had to goto the sentinel base. There are two metal doors you can go through each has a guy with a sub-machinegun and a girl with a sniper rifle behind it. They wouldn't open it, I can't shoot through... so what do I do? Have my grenadier set a mine on it and then shoot it with my sniper. The blast killed them both, then my grenadier dashed around the corner and shot the cook with the dagger.
