|
 |
Quote: | An eventful week for Activision rolls on: rumours are circulating at the highest level that the company is eyeing a shock acquisition of rival Take-Two. (...)
"There are very strong rumours amongst people at a very senior level within the global business," a senior executive told MCV this week.
"But there're not much more than that at the moment – they are just rumours. And, of course, given Activision's news this week, everyone is now looking to see what their next move is. But you can definitely put two and two together and make four-ish." |

can activision even afford such big names? and wouldnt it be vivendi rather whos trying to get some more , anyway not particularly fond of activision but have to admit they been getting bit better lately ,
apart that rockstar doesnt releases 80% of their game on pc, and activision does all of them.. so might not be bad thing

Why would it be a good news? Everything that Activision touches turns into crap. It's like a reverse King Midas Touch.

Why would you care about Ubisoft? They've already turned into a crappy developer all by themselves. |
It'll turn most of the gaming industry into Kotickworld
so , crappy as they may be , i'd rather see a decent competition rather than these shoggots take the industry almost completely over and continue fucking every series possible

well,I don't mind them to buy Ubi,actually,UBI is one worst company now, even then Activation, sure, they have somewhat great games(for most part at least) but I can't forgive them for using the most Awful DRM in Gaming History.

2K is not "a" studio, there are (or rather, were) tons of 2K studios. Most of which were developers that renamed to 2K <insert country of origin>, and most of which released aweful games after their acquisition by Take-Two. Can't say I've been impressed by any 2K Studio's work lately :E

I think it's good, with Activions track record they'll spam every platform, so the PC too, with all Rockstar games. Gimme LA Noire and RDR. It's a win-win for PC gamers. Best case scenario, we\ll get ported R* games. Worst case scenario, R* will turn into another Activision cash/milk cow yet it won't mean shit for PC gamers since they already said FU to PC gaming.

i dont think 2k investors would allow it.. they have a pretty solid position in the gaming market, and to trade that away would be foolish, especially since the RDR was such a success

Didn't EA want to buy 2K too? They offered 2 billion dollars and 2K still refused.

are you aware that they might not have chosen to work on games you don't like?
are you aware dev might not be happy their games are released buggy/unfinished (or pos as you say)?
blame kotick for overusing the trends
i hope CoD will have the same fate, but not the death of the poeple working on it, cause i know they probably wish to make polished games, they just have to respect a terrible deadline to please Activision's shareholders
i'm not stupidly blinded by my rage against buggy games

Too bad videogames don't really lead to violence, then we could hope for someone to assassinate Kotick.

Oh sweet, new GTA every year, scrap Max Payne 3 and reboot it as a military shooter with Max being the leader of an elite counter terrorism unit, and he has a mohawk and tattoos and uh...you know what? Give him a scottish accent too just for the fuck of it and have Kevin McKidd voice him.
YEAH! I WENT THERE!
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

"Bobby Kotick announces that the GTA franchise was put on infinite hold because it doesn't bring that much profit anymore. Bad news for consolers everywhere as there won't be any GTA's this semester. In other news, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare single player ending DLC sells more than 8 million copies on the Xbox Live."
