yep, awesome month for 360 owners.

I watched some Dead Rising footage the other day, it showed the main character cycling through the mall on a bike mowing down wave after wave of zombies, jumping off the bike cleaving several zombies skulls in with a hammer then taking a sneaky photo - the word "Erotica" then flashed up on screen whilst the game calculated the amount of mutilated zombies on screen in a similiar fashion to the scoring system when you snap a ghost in Fatal Frame, although in the case of Dead Rising the word Erotica was being used to indicate the fact that in battering one of the zombies (which happened to be a woman) across the head they had fallen backwards leading to an upskirt pantie shot when the game character took the photo. Laughing

Ninety-Nine Nights looks visually stunning but if it turns out to be another Dynasty Warriors then it wouldn't really be up my street, on the other hand if its in the same league as something like Kingdom Under Fire then bring it on - if not KOF is getting a 360 version anyway.

I also hear alot of good stuff about Saints Row (including the multiplayer component), GTA on crack is the expression that I most commonly hear. Razz

Yeah, Dead Rising looks fucking insane. I watched a video where this oriental couple were babbling at the main character in Japanese as unless you equip an appropriate book you can't understand what they're saying. So he ended up running them over with a lawnmower, and they were screaming while he repeatedly went back and forth over their prone bodies. It's going to be a sadists utopia!

As you said Saints Row also looks like the dogs, the way enemies react to damage looks massively better then the equivalent in GTA.

That scene with the jap couple sounds awesome, the only aspect which worried me about Dead Rising was the time factor which they highlighted in the impressions over at one of the big game sites - they said that you had "timed missions" which advanced the story and they had to be done at certain points in the game and if you weren't at those points ready to start the mission then it was Game Over.

I was looking forward to a more sandbox style game, just running around exploring without having to worry about meeting certain objectives at specific times during the course of the story. Regardless I still think it will be great, just remains to be seen how much it will impact on a players desire to go on a rampage through the mall or just explore and do the sort of stuff that both of us pointed out from the videos we watched. After you complete the game for the first time you unlock the 'sandbox' mode where your basic aim is to survive as long as possible against the rampaging hordes.

In this mode you have to compete with other humans to survive as everyone has to eat, and food is limited. Although you can band together with them too. Roaming badits will also raid the mall, psychopaths will sacrifice people to appease their zombie gods and general anarchy will decend as the game progresses.

In this mode the zombies get progressively more deadly as they have rudimentary learning abilities and can learn from the players actions if you do something enough times. They also get stronger and faster as time goes by for whatever reason. This will also factor into their increased abilities at night. Apparently the nights will be extremely difficult to survive after a few ingame days have passed unless you find a safe location.

I'm not sure if this mode has a conclusion or if it goes on indefinitely. But it'll certainly be fun.

I don't think it is, although i'm not certain. There is currently no way to play a region locked game on a console of different region.

I would also import it if it turn out to be region free, but capcom have already made a statement about it being locked. Link below:

Im not a big fan of Dynasty Warriors but you can't rule out the similarity between them! However I have to say I quite like N3. Obviously its visually far superior but the weapons, upgrades and special effects are what drew me in to the game and the stylish japanesque characters make for some impressive cut scenes. The armies of men you have control over seem a bit pointless tho to be honest since they dont kill nowhere near as many as you do lol. I definitely recommend downloading the Xbox Live demo and if like me, you despise Dynasty Warriors, then like me, you might like this! One to look out for on Usenet next month! Very Happy

One second... everyone is talking "August" but I have September release dates for all of those titles (PAL versions).

I can't see a single PAL release due out in August.

Oh yeah - Alan Wake looks great too.
