it s all about timing and planning the upgrades. I also have a 6800 and am still very happy with it. Next upgrade will be a full system overhaul as i m also still on an old athlon xp setup. I just hope vista and crysis will at least run, as i dont have money for it at the moment.

I'm tired of upgrading too, it costs a huge amount of money and since i don't play games that often anymore i rather want a very quite pc than an ultra fast one.
The solution for me is to buy an xbox 360 next month, and i will buy the few games i really want to play in the future.

as i said above, plan ahead. Think about upgrade paths, get the hardware at times when the performance to money ratio is good. Dont go for the fastest machine possible if you dont want to be broke everytime... ...its not that hard actually

I've been wanting an upgrade for quite some time, but now I've actually got a reason: SSE2
Stupid AMD didn't put sse2 support in athlonXP and now I really wish I had got a P4. And now that I'm upgrading Mobos then I'm going to have to do a total overhaul which I can't pay for.

I bought my gfx card (x850xl) and it stil plays all new games and usually the highest or second highest quality
From my experience, gfx cards usually last about 2 years if you buy a good one.
