Well I was bored so I decided to download a cookery program. Well I chose good eats. I mean what the hell is this crap?

It's the weirdest program I've ever had to be insulted to watch.

What kind of audience is this rubbish aimed at? Can't be working mums.

Strange American cookery program.

what kind of audience is this thread aimed at? Can't be at least the geeks, since we order our food. Maybe it is aimed for workless mums?

it would help to discuss about this matter, if you would had mentioned what is so crappy/strange about it..

Why do you have & Female above your avatar?

Well for a start I work. Another thing that kinda gives it away is my name. Which kinda indicates that I am female. Plus you may notice that I am actually a moderator too.

I consider myself a geek. Well ish. But cooking is a life skill tbh.

yea, it might be that, but whats the big deal about it to mention it? Dont get it wrong, there is nothing wrong with it.. i was just curious. I was thinking if you could add me something kewl aswell, like, member & depile. That would be funky. Moderator, female, depile.. whats the difference ?!?

well if you work, then it might be for workless mums.. youll never know. The thing is though, it might be for men - that was such a HUGE generalization to mention "mums". the propapility, that its meant for men is higher, since its well known, that best cooks are men.

so back to the question, what was so weird about it ?

Download it. It's only 200Mb.

Bollocks. Perhaps the best TV star and chefs at restaurants are male, but I have no reason to believe that women can't be just as good a cook as men. I realise from your post that you dislike generalisation, I understand - I am the same. However, you don't fight fire by throwing fuel on top of it.

You know what program I don’t mind watching when it comes to food. Iron Chief. It is overly dramatic, completive, and has English speaking people mimicking a Japanese accent.

They always make interesting things of a Japanese nature.

Weirdest cooking show goes to the one with the naked couple. Every time they turn around you see their bum.

when my ex and i used to cook naked, i was the one that fried everything. I never really got splatter on me...or if i did it was on my chest or stomach, not on anything sensitive. A wet towl gets rid of it no problem

Im just a naked type of guy. I'd walk around naked if I could. Not that I think everyone wants to see me naked, im sure no one does, but fuck, its comfortable. I hate clothes, they suck. So restrictive and they bunch and twist and piss me off.
Thats why I love the summer...all you need is shorts Smile

@syco
LOL I am trying to be really good so I don't wreak Jenni's thread but you are making very difficult. Razz

@Jenni
Why wasn’t it good for working mom’s. Time consuming meals that use way to many pots, pans, and cooking utensils? Scallops are good but I don’t think a lot of kids eat them.

haha, exactly. I was going to write "and this was not a generalization, after i said 'that best cooks are men'".

i was quite impressed, that noone said anything claiming moderators and females to be depile, to a moderator. I guess its just noone cares about this kind of idiot sentences, but evenso - i take it as a personal victory!

Probably because the word 'depile' does not exist. Wink (I might be wrong, I just checked a few dictionaries) I also wondered why Jenni had '& female' in her user title for a while, but I guess it's pretty unique among geek sites like these, so I stopped caring.

I never wondered why she had the female in the title. I thought it made sence. When I was first posting everybody thought I was a gay guy. I don't think (but I really don't know) that a lot of females d/l or game.

Well for a cookery program to be good it has to show the culture of the food and the people who eat it. Take Two Hairy Bikers. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0497293/ They travel around the world on their bikes looking at different peoples and how they live. They're not hunky guys. Just two scruffy looking bikers. Now that's a cookery program.

The reason I have female in my title is to show people that it's not just adolescent boys that know computers. I've been a gamer for years.

I never said knowing computers does have anything to do with playing games. But they do have a close relationship. Well a PC gamer generally knows more than a general none gamer.
I'm into it more than that though.

@numero

Agree with Jen

If you are playing your games on computers or using it to grab the games I would think you have to know something about them. My ex knows nothing. I even had to start up the game for him. Now he doesn’t play games anymore cuz he never learned when he had the chance.

Uniqueness FTW.

I don't think he could even install a bought game with out help. Anything d/l is a complete mystery. He never really to do anything because I did it. Even some of his work stuff I did for him. I just gave a bunch of softwear to a friend. He can't install anything either. I couldn't even do it over the phone with him.

Anything I give them now comes with detailed flow charts.

haha, lowbunch.

and no, gaming doesnt have nothing to do with knowing anything about computers. Playing games, downloading games is easier, than to learn how to use washingmachine. Usually when people says "they dont know how" got nothing to do with knowledge. Its more easier just to phone some geek to do the work for you.

Ya know what.

Just cuz some geek knows how to do something tech. or download or have access to some ubber FTP don’t make them a geek. (I sound like I am yelling but I am not, I am typing in a nice tone) I hear that all the time.
