to not install it
it's beta
as in buggy and incomplete
if you're trying to update from existing windows installation, then don't, and do a fresh install instead (remove or rename all system files)
if you have an exotic scsi/raid controller, and there is a driver for it, use it
might be that the one with vista is buggy
or disconnect ALL but essential hardware from your comp
this was a common fix for early windows 95 and 2000 installations when the installer was really buggy and couldn't detect hardware right
so that's only the videocard required for the monitor
all other cards can easily be unplugged for the duration of the installation
then add them one by one if the install was a success
installing motherboard drivers before adding any cards might be a good idea aswell
if they work on vista yet

i tried installing the new rc1 version of windows vista on my machine, but somehow the installation never finishes properly, it always tells me that some data could not be read or something. No a buddy told me that i need to install the 64 bit version of vista, because i have an Athlon 64 Processor. But i think that´s bullshit, the normal X86 Version should also work on my system right ?

Yeah it should work fine, might be a bad burn or download.
