That is a good thing is it not? The exam is re-scheduled for a later date. You got more time to study or did they add more bullcrap stuff to it.
Area of law are you taking? I think you said once before.

500 square foot 1 bedroom with a balcony. the building is like 40 years old, it's not the swankiest place, but it's ok until we buy something
in most parts of downtown (we need to live right on the subway line near union station so my gf can commute to work), for a newer 1 bedroom condo it costs like $1400+ parking ... |
sounds like a good deal
Im considering moving out to Brampton. Houses arent took expensive, not far from the city at all and I got friends there. I dunno tho

Yeah, there's a ton of arabs and stuff.
Doesnt bother me tho. I know enough white guys that live up there.
It all depends where you live in brampton.
I dunno...its either mississauga or brampton...farthest i wanna move from the city.

near work I hate the suburbs, but if I worked there I would probably live there.
What's the problem? Not liking Jane/Finch anymore? |
Basically. Wanna get outta this area. Not right away, but I have wanted to move for a while.
I wouldnt mind moving to New Zealand. Ive also been considering something like that. save up some money, move to new zealand or some other foreign place for a year or 2.
England and the netherlands are also a possibility.
I havent checked the prices on homes in amersterdam yet. Hopefully, canadian money is worth more than whatever they use there
All I know is i have the urge to experience a different way of living. As oppose to the way we live in canada/southern ontario

I know the feeling ... I was considering doing the same and moving to London for a year or two (I have a friend that moved there as well), but I didn't really have the $$$ to do it when I finished school and started working. fucking loans! Don't think I'll really get the chance to do it now |
Man, your still young
I dunno. Gunna have to think about it while i save some money. Been saving for a while tho still.

@syco
You are seriously considering buying another place when you want to hang out for 2 yrs or so. How long does it take to get a green card so you can work in those places? I have heard of Canadians waiting 4 yrs for a green card to the states.
If it was me I would do the Europe back-back hostel thing. Grab one of those train passes and just go. Hook up with people as I go.
LOL You could always move to Whistler. That is kinda like New Zealand. 3/10 people are from there and the rest are from Australia. They are desperate for workers too. Esp construction and I bet welding would be one of them. You could take up snowboarding in the winter and chill out in the summer. You would probably do very well in the sex dept. It’s a very physically active place so the women are in really good shape. Big Party scene.

You make a good case for whistler
What I wanna do is save enough money so I dont have to work. Just chill out for a year or 2. Im thinking europe because you can travel to enough places by train and inexpensivly. I wouldnt mind visting france and england and the netherlands and spain and italy.
Ive always wanted to travel europe. Great sites and great women

True, but I feel like I already missed the opportunity ... I have to concentrate on my career now, which I hope is heading for a job with the federal govt. That means I pretty much have to continue working in this country if I want to do that. So I'm kinda stuck here now! |
What is it you do again? Dont you do programming?
I'd think there would be a demand for cpu programmers in europe, they use computers to
I know what your sayin. I guess thats one benefit of being in trades. Im not really stuck at a job. I make good money and my qualifications are in demand. Dont get me wrong, it isnt easy as pie finding a job, its just not super difficult.
Could you take a leave from work for a year and travel? Maybe not now but if you set it up and all?

I do statistical analysis and programming, but the job requires knowledge of health and epidemiological concepts. It's actually pretty light on the actual programming, plus it's not something I can do forever. I really only took this job I have now because I had some experience using the programming language (SAS) and it pays well ... but I really would like to do something more practical in my field (also not in a cubicle )
This is what I'd like to get into:
http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/cfep-pcet/about_e.html
... which is a field epidemiologist training program with the public health agency of canada (training program that pays 60K/year, no tuition or anything).
They send you out to do outbreak investigations all over the country, which sounds right up my alley. I have the required education to get in (you needs a masters degree), but I'm going to have to work for a local public health department to gain some practical experience.
It is an internationally recognized training program, so I guess I could do the same thing in EU. Only problem is that I don't see this happening for 4 or 5 years, and by that time I'll probably be married and having kids and shit!

@Nouse
Field work I think would be really interesting.
I know quite a few people that left Canada to work. Mostly to Asia, Hong Kong. I say if the money is really good go for it. I wouldn’t do it for the experience tho only the money.
I have 2 friends that paid their house off that way. They lived in Hong Kong for 4 years. They are teachers. 2 Degrees each plus some extra ESL thing. I know a couple that even had their kids over there. Everybody pretty much speaks English in the hospital.
And your wife would have a full time live in nanny and house cleaner.
Just something to think about. It may be easier than you think even with kids.
