I have an original disc that won't copy the IOFILE.X64, MOVE_IO.X64 and SOUND.X64. Is there something to defeat this copy protection so I can make backups?

The protection is based on readerrors which are used to calculate a cdkey. Alcohol + readerror emulation should be able to make working image of it mounted in alcohol or dt.
alternative you can do the following (if ur able to debug with IDA or OLLY):
- Hook cd access routine in optgraph.dll ( the dll is used to read and calculate the key from cd)
- copy hex of CDKey from memory
- either inject it at the dll placeholder where dll gives cdkey as decrypt key to exe or inject it at placeholder in exe where it saves the key it got from dll
