Ok so I have a weekend to learn ASP.NET (C#)... The M$ website is pretty good, it has a load of "how to" and beginner video's on it, but its always helpful to grab a book on the subject.

http://www.asp.net/Modules/MoreBooks.aspx?tabindex=0&mid=63

Can anyone recommend a book or series on the subject (there is a pretty comprehensive list above of what is available).. I'm looking for a nice reference book more than anything, something where, should I want to create a specific functionality I can just look it up in the book and it will explain how and give an example.

thanks!

edit:

Just for the record, I am a seasoned programmer, so I wont be needing any "ASP.NET FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESNT KNOW HOW TO CODE" books..

Go to http://search.safaribooksonline.com/home
its a website that collects books about programmiing. it needs a subscription to access full contents. Just search for "asp.net 2.0" and you'll see a couple of entries.
the asp 2.0 cookbook book is good one for example.
Personnally, I love that site, especially since my company is offering the subscription. Very Happy

PS:im fulltime developer in c# and asp.net

Good website, although I already learned C#/ASP.NET (thread is ooold) I've moved onto a new project using managed C++ (although, due to its moronic ways I'm thinking of knocking back to good old standard C++) so hopefully the site will be useful Very Happy

thanks!

most books can always be found at usenet, I get most of my books there, infact I almost always have a book pdf on one of my screens if I like to learn something new.
A quick scan and 5 minutes worth of downloading gave me
Advanced C# Programming 2002.pdf
Wiley [2002]- C# Bible.rar
Wiley [2006]- C# for Dummies.rar
Professional C#, Third Edition.pdf
The MIT Press, C# Precisely.pdf
C# Language Specification.pdf
Sams Teach Yourself the C# Language in 21 Days.pdf

Not that I care to learn that language as I got tons of other stuff to learn/do but just proving how easy it is.
