Lucius II : The Prophecy will be released Friday 13th February 2015 on Steam for PC/Windows.
Lucius will cost $19.99 / 19.99 EUR on Steam store for Windows, while other platforms and distributors will be announced gradually over the upcoming months.
Played it for around 4 hours. Well optimized (~90-120 fps with 1080p, everything max and sweetfx enabled on gtx 970 and i7 4790k in), a lot less linear than the first part (many ways to kill people instead of one, more environments and story related stuff), a bit buggy (though most bugs are just funny, not gamebreaking). I've had fun and will finish it for sure.
And I managed do accidentaly headshoot and cockshoot two mentally disturbed guys with gas bottle <3
Haven't finished the first game yet, got stuck after a few chapters but it's probably just something I overlooked.
(I seem to get stuck in some 90% or so of all adventure games I attempt though so nothing new there, I will finish it eventually.)
Will probably try this game when I eventually complete the first installment, it was pretty fun.
The dev team took a weird turn with this sequel, and I'm not sure it's a good one. I liked the first Lucius for what it was (basically a simplistic point 'n click murder simulator), and here they decided to make things bigger, using a more sandbox-y formula with upgrades/powers and XP points like the big AAA guys.
Which would be okay on paper, though not everything works as intended. The dynamic stealth system is completely faulty with its hilarious on/off "omg I got you!! bah nevermind" AI xD, there are multiple ways to kill key people, but the clunky interface and twisted in-game logic don't make them feel memorable enough. Plus the engine is a bit of a mess (not a surprise since it's Unity), you see framerate drops, dead bodies floating around, objects moving like in the Octodad universe. Hope it gets better, because so far I'm not that impressed.

It's a mental asylum so you see all sorts of strange things even from what little I have played of it myself so far, unfortunately various bugs currently make the game a bit frustrating at times and somewhat unclear as well but if they manage to fix that via the upcoming patches (There's several planned with the first one coming next week I believe.) then it could be a really fun game and a nice sequel to the first installment.
We are aware that there are some major issues with Enemy AI, saving, music and dragging.
We are hoping to get these sorted out as quickly as possible.
Here is our first set of hotfixes.
Saving:
Fixed an issue where doors did not save their rotation and locking. This should fix the issue where you could get stuck behind a locked door.
There seems to be some sort of memory leak somewhere on the saving and this is causing all sorts of problems. We are investigating the problem. Once this is solved we believe it will help alot with the saving situation.
Achievements:
Fixed an issue where player was able to get MJ achievement in game but did not get it on steam. If you had it in-game then you should now get it on steam too.
Fixed an issue with smoking kills achievement.
Input:
Fixed an issue where changing movement buttons did not change Mind control and Object control movements.
Fixed an issue where some controllers made the camera spin around.
Other:
Fixed an issue where items suddenly appeared on the players head and killed him.
Fixed an issue where mind controlled person could not walk well on the road.
Fixed some issues with cremate. Effects should be much more lightweight.
Fixed an occluder problem where some of the environment was not visible. (ex. Level 5)
Fixed the sprinkler cover breaking in level 3. You can now use it even after loading.
We will be putting on a bigger patch probably on friday.
We have mostly focused on the saving system on this patch.
There are a lot of problems with it, and with the combination system. We are doing our best to find these issues and fixing them as fast as we can.
We are going to be aiming to get another similar patch out in a week or so.
Saving
Fixed an issue where saves got corrupted and eternal black screen stayed on the screen. This fix does not actually fix the already corrupted saves but re-saving should not create anymore the same problem.
There were some problems with combinable items such as Home-Made Bomb and chemical tubes. These items should now better survive saving, loading and level changing. This will not fix already corrupted saves.
Fixed an issue where player took damage randomly on the first level after loading.
Fixed several saving issues with the last level boss fight.
Fixed issues with animation state saving. Crosses should now remember their animation state.
Fixed an issue with vial combing. You should now need all four vials for make an explosive.
Fixed an issue where water canister did not survive through level changes.
Fixed an issue where boss battle had wrong music after loading with.
There still is an issue of having some items disappearing. But should not happen as often as before.
Options
Fixed an issue with resolutions were reverting back every time the player died. Fixed also several other bugs related to this.
Achievements
Added a one new way for doing and changed description to Smoking Kills achievement for a more fitting one. Note: Smoking kills is not designed work with Fuel Fire.
Fixed an issue with MJ achievement not completing.
Changed some of the descriptions from The Patience is a virtue achievement.
Items
Fixed problem with player not being able to pick up items from water puddles.This was problematic especially when picking up the shotgun in the final level.
Inventory Full text now correctly appears when trying to holster an item while player’s inventory is full.
Changing holster button in the options now correctly changes the skill cancellation button as well.
Fixed static faucet that were missing a collision in ICU room in level 4.
Fixed an issue with money sometimes showing pickup button as [NULL].
Items from NPC inventory were sometimes floating in air after the NPC died. This should not happen anymore.
Fixed an issue where defibrillator was electrifying twice.
Other
Removed Chromatic Aberration effect from situations where players experienced strange colors during the effect (ie. Mind Control).
Fixed performance issue when trying to cremate multiple bodies at once. This was causing freeze or even crash for some players.
Mana/Health Full text now appears when trying to pick up these power ups when player has full health or mana.
Fixed looping kill music in chapter 1 level 4 in the ICU room.
Fixed several other issues of music overlapping.
Fixed lucius taking damage out of nothing in the library in second level.
Mind controlled NPC’s have no longer problems walking on pavement in ch 2 level 2.
Player was not able to see hospital exterior from windows. This is now fixed.
Fixed issues with Charles Wagner death narrations.
Fixed some lightmaps from level Chapter 1 level 4.
Added a helper text to the end scene.
Added missing credits.
Fixed an issue where player could not get out of level 3 because of elevator doors.
Fixed some issues from electric radio puzzle in level 1.
Fixed a bug where player was able to exploit himself out of boundaries in Ch2 level 1.
Minor
Fixed some hospital windows that allowed player to position camera outside hospital allowing players to see things they shouldn’t.
Fixed missing inventory icon from wooden stick in ch1 level 5.
Fixed several descriptions from various objects.
Fixed narration subtitles not matching with audio in chapter 1 level 4 ICU room kill.
Fixed biocontainment missing icons from Chapter 2 level 4.
Body in the morgue was missing material causing it look plain pink.
Fixed payphone floating in air in level 5.
Fixed some flickering textures from vending machines.
Fixed some floating tubes from level 4.
Fixed few sink sounds.
Fixed an issue where sometimes you would see the button [NULL] on loot icon.

We are aware that some people are having crash problems on launching the game, but we still have not been able to figure that one out. Once we find a solution we will put out a hotfix for it.
Some fixes here may affect your current saves and some of the save fixes might not affect your already saved items or situations.
We will once again try to get a new patch of fixes out in a week or so.
Once we start to feel like all the major saving issues and things hindering actual progress are minimized, then we will start focusing some of the issues with the AI.
We would love to hear all your problems with the current state of the AI and possible solutions you might think of.

Explosions from items should not explode again after save and load.
Clicking two times fast to different items would trigger double click.
Fixed issue that caused item dropped from inventory clutter and float in air.

Hello everyone.
It's patch time again. Most significant fixes here would be some of the crashes people have been having.
It seems like there has been two separate issues where the game crashed on startup.
We have now enabled a splash screen, so that you can avoid some of the problems resolution changes were giving.
If you still experience crashing on startup after the current patch. Please try the following:
1. Go to steam->LuciusII->Properties->Set launch options
2. Add the line -force-d3d11
3. Try launching the game again.
We are probably gonna be slowing down on the patches a bit unless there is something really game breaking going on. We are hoping to bring localization soon and pad support, but we will still keep the remaining bugs as our priority.
Expect another patch during the next couple of weeks.

Added option to increase font size of targeted items and enemies.
Fixed an issue where game resolution was always 1080p after clean install regardless of desktop resolution.
Items
Fixed some issues with disabled items activating on load by themselves.
Fixed problems with combinable items that caused some of the items disappear when combining loading or changing level.
Fixed an issue that caused some items dropped from inventory to vanish.
Fixed an issue with items that float in air and clutter together when multiple items were dropped to same place.
Player should now be able to holster the wooden sticks found near reception in chapter 1 level 4.

Money taken from a bag no longer floats in the air.
Saves
Fixed some issues that caused inventory items to lose their properties after quick load.
Fixed an issue that made impossible to complete Sacred scroll in final level.
Fixed couple of issues with compressors which sometimes shot a stick when loading from save. There was also a visible stick on compressor after loading from a save.
Gas tank in hospital library used to explode after saving and loading. Furthermore, the
worker in the library sometimes died randomly on load. These should not happen anymore.
Loading a save should not allow defibrillator to be used again anymore.
Fixed an issue where player was not able to attach drying rack stick to pressure pipes after loading from a save.
Green flammable bottle could be set on fire again after save and load.
Player can no longer use elevator panel again by loading. This caused doors to shut after a while possibly trapping Lucius inside.
General
Re-baked lightmaps of several levels where they were shown incorrectly.
Fixed some errors regarding serialization.
Fixed an issue where game sometimes crasher on Level 03.
Fixed an issue where game crashed instantly after opening the game.
Enemies
Fixed problem with Jose Castro getting stuck in chapter Level 2.2.
Fixed garage door that allowed enemies to run through it in Level 2.2
Prevented enemies from walking past main gate in Level 2.3.
Fixed few issues with enemies staying Incapacitated when they should not.
Achievements
Like a surgeon had misleading and different descriptions in game and in steam achievements.
Smoking Kills can be now achieved by killing Kayden Bailey with a flammable gas.
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
