I want to know if it is simply as in anyone can do it, or hard as in I should find someone to do it for me. Im thinkin about getting the firmware insall kit from the modchip site

Yeah I wouldnt try doing it if its yer first modding job, as the chances of bricking your system are pretty high. I did the modding with the xbox 1 myself but am holding out for a true bios modchip on the 360. If you are feeling adventurous, you might buy a replacement dvd drive, flash the firmware on it and try loading it in your 360 and keep the old one in case anything goes wrong. I can't find the link to a shop that sells the drives but im sure if you google you can find one. I've modded my 360 to play back ups and essentally, it's rather easy. It's probably because I had a Hitachi drive and it works flawlessly in Windows with the Xecuter Connectivity Kit. I did mine and a friend's and they probably took a half hour to do. As far as games, shit, I bought a 15 pack of dual layer discs for $25 and I have every game I could want. Some things I had to purchase to do the modding and get everything working... Xecuter Connectivity Kit SATA Card for PC Pioneer DVD Drive that burns 360 games 100% 15 pack of dual layer discs It's a little steep in the beginning, but I haven't had any time to contemplate the spending since I've been playing so many 360 games.

If you could play games from any region i'd do it, thats the main reason I modded my xbox. But I can afford any games I want so it's not too much of an issue for me. do you have to do something wrong for the drive to get bricked or dont some drives want to get hacked ?

Yeah, something's gotta go wrong (either user error or flash error) to get a bricked drive.

if you can flash a firmware onto a optical drive on your pc then you can do it to the 360., you have as much error of botching it up as you would on a normal pc setup flash command. Only thing thats hard about it is if you have the right chipset on your motherboard and the sata connection setups in the PC bios. Apart from that its fairly striaghtforward what with all the tutorials esp by GeeBee/ I've done 4 hitachi's and 2 samsumgs using either Birdy_Hitachi-LG_friendly_Flasher_v2.2_with_Xtreme_v1.3_and_2.0 or XTRM-HITACHI-7IN1-V1_2fix by GARYOPA on the hitachi's and i use a custom bootable cd setup with X360SAM0.2 and xtreme30 for the samsungs, and like CRA$HH110011001 mentions it takes 5 mins to do after your 1st one.
