What do you all out there prefer? i choose clones. They arent difficult to use, Lately you either use curerom or securom loader 1.2. Two very simple programs that take no effort or time to use. I like being able to update asap, not worrying if the game is going to crash because of a bad crack (very common with reloaded and deviance lately). Aside from starforce which id never install anyway, so imo those dont count.

Clones are good because you can usually update your game and run it without having to wait for another crack. But sometimes the copy protection has been updated in a patch and you are fucked. And sometimes the application you need to bypass the protection with causes serious lag issues in the game.
Cracks are good because you don't have to mingle with 3rd party application to get a game to run. And usually most cracks works just fine.
Call me old-school, but I prefer cracks.

cracks all the way 
No need to read or "decrypt" the nfo, copy over the exe, double click the shortcut and you're good to go.
Plus you can delete the iso once the game is installed, no need to keep it mounted.
If you want to burn the game, you burn the iso whatever way you want, no speed restriction, not forced to use alcohol if you prefere nero. You burn the iso, install the game from the disc and copy over the crack. You don't even need to leave the disc, which also allows the game to start faster because he doesn't check if it's the legit disc.
Cracks = easy, fast, and no need to search for other apps to be able to run the game.
as for the patch argument: i usually stopped playing or finished the game by the time the first patch is released

well you should know if youre going to vote cracks, that lately theyve been shit and prone to failure. even reloaded's madden ccrack is faulty...but i seem to be the only one to see this because im the only one here who got that menu....... |

Clones if there's not to mutch work with it.
Crack if you have to use 100 apps and disconnect 1000 cables from your computer with the clone.

I'm basing my comments on my personnal experience and so far i've never had any problems with cracked releases, only with clones. I'll admit it's been a while since i downloaded a cracked release because lately the released games aren't my style.
The last cracked release i got was Micromachines V4 and Tomb Raider Legend and i never had any problems with it. Currently playing a cracked version of F.E.A.R. and Far Cry , no problems there either.
There are some good releases coming soon (el matador and that other gta lookalike (forgot the name)) and they will probably be cracked, i'll see how it goes, i might eventually change my mind but i seriously doubt it. If it's playable, it's good for me

Cracks and clones. I prefer cracked games, I dont really care when it gets cracked anyways because most games are crap. So I usually get both if I can. Clones are just in case somethings wrong and for online reasons.

why are you using a starforce game as an example? we all know those clones are retarded.... and besides those methods for SF dont work anymore anyway. so your post was doubly pointless. make that tripley pointless since a big majority of companies stopped using starforce

no it wasnt. once sfcure came out you could just mount it hide your drives and play. even more people were able to play it once DT4 arrived.

Cracks of course, nothing beats a proper crack! But I miss the old days... Until some years ago basically every game was cracked in a matter of days and it worked 100%. Also you could usually update the game because most updates were cracked too. But now there are so many faulty cracks and almost no updates get cracked anymore. That sucks! I really wish there would be more competition in the cracking scene. Like it used to be. Some years ago RZR, DEV and FLT raced to be the first group to release a cracked game but nowadays RLD alone is the scene. And they can take all the time they want because no one else will release something. If RLD would get busted there would be no PC cracking scene anymore.
I guess I would use clones more often if the DT team would be able to code an all-in-one emulation+anti-blacklisting tool that gets frequently updated. But having to use two or three third-party tools (DT/Alc + 1-2 anti-blacklisting tools) sucks imo. Also the constant mounting is a bit annoying for me too.

its all very well saying 'cracks' but how many of the games lately do you see cracked updates for?
answer : 5%
how many games lately get released in a hurry, and really are buggy as hell
answer : 50-70%
i think, although the mucking about is a pain, and i wouldnt install a sf clone, the choice is obvious to anyone with half a brain. Clones... if its too difficult for you, then you deserve a buggy exe or an almost beta game.

there have been patches released before the game hit the stores. and yes downloaders already had their copy of the game but wasn't in stores yet.
if only i could remember the name of those games i could prove you wrong ^^
