for starters the hardware cant access the firmware on the sammy like it can on the LG. Secondly the stealth firmware for the sammy is pretty advanced now. And with the stealth backups coming out its gonna be very hard for them to detect who is running a backup.
Just upgrade to xtreme 3.2 and dont play any earlier backups whilst connected to xbl. A software update wont do much with a sammy the most they can do is checksumthe firmware (maybe) but the newer firmware appears exactly the same as the unmodified one.
Microsofts best defense seems to be the 7 month lifesapn, when it dies youve voided ur HW warranty and have to buy a new one

if i was microsoft id be making sure that new xbox 360 dvd drives couldnt be flashed, id probably just ban peoples machines that are modified from live. too many problems if they try to reflash dvdrom drives or otherwise patch xbox 360's imho.

microsoft have made a terrible mistake on the drives to allow this hack and they are gonna have their hands full stopping it... especially on the samsung drives.
Theres just no way to ban someone using a stealth backup incase they are actually using a real disc and have a live subscription... the legal stuff would be too great for them to try that.

I'll say that the thin about "sammys being more safe" is bullshit. No one here or at xbox-hacker has even the slightest idea of what MS MIGHT be able to do with the console. Remember that they built it, right? We have no idea how they can access things through software, what checks they can do and so on.
Sure xtreme firmware 3.x has better stealth but what says its enough? Absolutely nothing, 2 more things that makes it looks more original. Will it be enough? Noone will now until the update hits live. Simple as that.
However, I think it will be countered by some updated hacked firmware.

Samsung will never get firmware stealth, just media stealth. In case of hitachi will get both of them Firmware + Media Stealth. The mediacheck was issued by Geremia first for hitachi
