For some reason COD has problems running under SP2, some times it works sometimes dont ... anyone knows the fix ?
Windows XP SP2
Asus A7N8X Deluxe 2.0
Athlon XP2500 @ 2.4GHz (overclocked)
1GB Corsair XMS DDR400 (overclocked)
Radeon 9700 Pro (overclocked)
2x60GB Maxtor 7200/8MB
TDK CD/RW 52x32x52
TDK DVD Burner 8X/8X
10MBit Cable

What happens? It just doesn't start up sometimes? I was playing it the other day and it worked perfectly fine.

The bar loads up to full and nothing happens, its just a picture with the bar filled up but it doesnt take me to the game.

Try uninstalling COD (but save your saved games file) then reinstall it, and apply your old saved games folder to the appropriate dir. Should work, if it dosent id be surprised.

Oh yea is this multiplayer or single player? I was just playing single player. Didn't try multiplayer out yet with SP2.

its the new firewall in sp2 that fucks it up.
make an exception to cod if you want it on and it will work, or just turn it off.

Definatly me, but Ill buy it from ebay under 10 bucks, same as I did with Half Life 2, I bought the unscratched ATI coupon for 5 bucks! cant beat that.

I'm probably gonna get the expansion pack. It looks good. I heard they added vehicles to multiplayer for some of the new modes.

Yea, Ive been playing CS:S for a bit now, pretty good considering its not the final product, not to mention the amazing graphics on 1280x1024 everything on max.
