FUCK!!!!! My windows is fucking pissing me off to no end! I have a hard drive with 2 partitions, my C:\ drive with windows and all my apps and games installed on it, and my D:\ drive that i use for storage of all my warez. Anyway, whenever i download an archive into my D:\ drive and extract it, my FUCKING BULLSHIT windows first extracts the archive to my C:\ drive, and THEN copies it over to the folder i specified on my D:\ drive!!!! This not only means that it takes twice as long to extract a really large archive, it also means that irregardless of how much space i have empty on my D:\ drive i have to have enough space on my C:\ drive too, because the fucking bullshit insist on ALWAYS first extracting it to the temp folder on the C:\ drive and THEN moving it to the D:\ drive! So if i have 5 million gigs free on my D:\ drive but only 2 gigs free on my C:\ drive and i want to extract an archive that's more than 2 gigs i can't do it without deleting stuff from my C:\ drive first! How the fuck do i fix this fucking shit!?!?

I'm going fucking insane here! Please help me!

Im guessing that you are using WinRAR, so open WinRar and go to "Settings". Then go to this place: http://www.myfilebin.com/userfiles/Bushdoctor/Installningar.JPG and edit the "Mapp för temporära filer" to your choice!

hmm... strange... I've got not more than 300MB on C: (my HDD is permanently filled to the top). I use Total commander with internal packers/unpackers.It never use TEMP dirs on C partition. I haven't had such problems as you mentioned... Try to use another unpackers, or check the setting of temp dirs...

um
winrar only does that if you drag & drop the files from the winrar window
which i agree is bullshit
but you can get around that by right clicking the .rar file and choosing "extract files.." and provide an address
or "extract to specified folder" in the right click of a file/files in the winrar window

hell, if i had to wait every time i extracted a large file for it to first extract and then COPY it, i would NOT be sitting around on such a shitty piece of software, as it's completely unnecessary
i would just hope rarsoft fixes that and makes "extract to" a default extraction method
in the meanwhile, use the workaround
