Baldur's Gate 2 ( )
Planescape: Torment
Icewind Dale 1&2
and something I just have to mention everytime
Temple of Elemental Evil
That's off the top of my head.

Inquisitor should be coming out soon.
I'd also say the Drakensang series.

I never heard of Temple of Elemental Evil, I think I played every known RPG available. Was it a budget game or something?

Temple of Elemental Evil is awesome with the patches. Only thing that bugs me is that its turn-based combat.

It's a DnD game. I think a DnD game needs to be turn based. Why you may ask?
Because a real p&p DnD game is turn based as well
But to each his own.
I couldn't have beaten BG without pausing the game all the time.
(and even though BG "seems" real time it still is turn based behind the scenes )

Another vote for ToEE. Just recently finished it for the first time. I had no problems with the fan-patch installed and the game is the best implementation of D&D rules in a PC game I've seen. Turn-based is pure bliss, you can actually use your casters and rogues to their full potential.

There is also Knights of the Chalice. http://www.heroicfantasygames.com/index.htm
It uses OGL 3.5, so its very similar to D&D systems. Fairly generic story, really good turn based combat, and great interface. Graphics is poor, but it is one of those games that look better in gameplay so I recommend at least trying the demo.

Upcoming old-school RPGs?
The Age of Decadence
The Broken Hourglass
Cyclopean
Dead State
Drakensang: The River of Time
Inquisitor
Grimoire (actually, this is a dungeon crawler like Wizardry and Might & Magic)
Avadon: The Black Fortress
There many indie RPGs on the making. For now, I recommend The Temple of Elemental Evil with the last Circle of Eight modpack.

Are you guys talking about the modpack by the circle of eight? Is that the community fix? Should I get the latest (5.8.0) or 3.0.4, which adds little new content? HAs anyone tried modpack 5.8? Is the new content good?

Anyway, look Reklis post and try also:

Sure, honeypumpkin, if you are so touchy, show us that isometric 2d Drakensang, now dont you be shy!!
whatever, trying to get the 2ª official patch of TOEE in order to install the C8 V.5.8.1 beta. When i played TOEE was buggy as hell, hope now its better, but its for real RPG players, def not for action rpg players, those WILL get bored.

ToEE is great.. it is a big dungeon crawl though so be prepared for that. The combat is bliss.
Google ToEE + CO8. Be warned the difficulty is increased substantially versus vanilla ToEE.
and follow instructions to install.

Yet another vote for TOEE here. <3 that game, all Troika games infact, but especially that one.
Of course I guess it depends on what part of Baldur's Gate that inspired you to look for more games like it. If you are looking for story and character interaction, I'd personally recommend The Witcher or else some of the oldschool rpgs already mentioned in this thread.
But on the other hand if story(or lack of) is not a deal breaker and you enjoyed the combat rules in BG, but maybe even wished the game's combat was a lil deeper and more strategic... It's all about TOEE. Imho, nothing has come even close to it since in terms of addictive and satisfying roleplaying combat.
