Because the first movies portrayed aliens in flying saucers, now everyone see them like that.
Like the gif above( Which I believe is a total fake) is showing us a round object. Just like the first movie about aliens in the world. That's why you can tell its fake from the start.

I think people observed UFOs before the movies were created... Therefore the movie UFOs could be similiar to real UFOs

i think its funny that everybody likes to believe aliens are more advanced then us. i see aliens more like a whole planet with animals. offocurse anything is possible (big universe). but im sure of one thing, they wont have flying saucers
and about the spacecraft beeing round. If you really build a spacecraft you would be able to build it in space and then it can take any form because in space there is no resistance

sure, I know how the shuttle or aircraft is designed... We use turbines/rocket engines... Whole design could be changed due to other type of "drive" we can't even imagine atm...

Answer the damb question .. & the first alien life we are lightly to encounter is going to be microbial or silicon based AI robots sent to scout .. just like we would .. once we have the tech to do so .. what’s the point sending manned spacecrafts to explore remote regions of space from you .. when you can send automated probes . ???

It´s really annoying, cause i always go by avatar and sig
its a experiment to test wich people are "wzrokowcy" - means people that must see it to understand (they are great explorers , artist ) or "Czytający" Readers - must read to understand (they are great scientist , good in maths and writers ) . People that understand the world seeing it and by reading it are great leaders , thinkers , actors , negotiators becoz they understand everybody and see the world in full colors .

I do believe there are some form of intelligent life in space (to add something useful to the discussion). Its just do damn big for us to be the only ones. Other solarsystems, some we don't even now about far far away. Anything can have happened there.
As for space travel for other lifeforms, very possible I say. Perhaps not in a way often described in sci-fi movies and flying saucers and the like, however I have no problem believing in it.
If the space is endless there are endless possibilities and if you want to convince me its not that way... prove it to me...

As for the ufo thing, I reckon that if some alien race had the ability to reach other worlds accross the vastness of space, why do it just to go joy-riding in the atmosphere?
