Had you guys ever wondered how someone leaves a forum? How does it really happen?
I mean, I've always stayed somewhat active in any forum I'd ever been relatively active in.
How does someone who's posting here everyday, someday just stops to?
What does it take to stop you from posting? What does it take to stop you from lurking?
Ever thought about that?

Well, when you have work, start a family, have kids, I guess you just don't have time to visit some of the forums you used to. Also, like me and Neowin, sometimes you don't like what the forums and their community become, and just gradually visit less and less. I don't think it is possible to suddenly stop visiting and at least lurking (unless it is indeed a case of suicide  ), at least I couldn't, but gradually you just don't find any more reasons to visit.

@theme: I am pretty active in another forum (moderator) but at one time I just decided to not be anymore a part of the community. The inside wars and flaming were so annoying... but the admin asked me not to leave and I stayed. I'm not that active anymore but I don't think that I'll leave anytime soon.

Yeah well now when I think about it I'd left a few forums...though I weren't that active in them.
They were all CG sites that I just lost the time to hang in, especially since I lost my time to do CG :/
