Well i tried the Beta last night and i guess i was expecting more. The Gfx seem kinda blah, gameplay is ok, the special features like darts and pool look cool. Meh, am i the only one a little disapointed. The controls seem quite good; i like the fact that i dont have to use the analog stick to control the player.

Anyways share your thoughts, maybe im not giving it a fair shot.

Oh, there are many rip kits available for it. Alot dont work or freeze when selecting certain gangs. But the one released yesterday by skirocket seems to work great. To bad they had to relink some of the speech, but if you have a 2 GB card, no need to rip; Original ISO is just slightly over a gig.

I really like this game but then I completed The Getaway back in the days when I used to have a PS2. Visually I think its quite impressive for a PSP game and this beta version seems a lot more complete than I thought it would be. My only complaint would be the shortness of the missions but I guess that could be a hardware limitation issue.

May the NFOrce be with you always.

yeah didn't like this game that much but then again i didn't play it too long. comparisons between this and gta are obvious, and gta leaves gol in the dust.

i dont trust it. it might be legit but its been reported to be similar if not identical to the beta leak, which means this could be similar to what happened with pursuit force euro release, which was unfinished, unpolished, unbalanced and buggy

ill definately wait for the USA release IF i decide to pick it up (beta didnt really impress me...)

Isn't the dump identical though?
The proof is a very blurry photo of the retail umd in it's case (not that I doubt it's real)

The way to tell if a game is a Beta is by the umd serial in param.sfo. If its UCET the game is beta. Pursuit Force WAR3X release was a beta for example. pSyPSP dumped the retail game and it just happened to be the same as the previous p2p beta.

Funny since in a statement sony said the leaked version was unfinished, well retail is identical down to iso crc..

It's very average at everything it does.

Average on foot stuff.
Average vehicle stuff.
Average squad stuff.
Average combat.
Average missions.

It's not a bad game, just not very good at any of its pieces either. Worth a play I guess though, while waiting for Vice City Stories. Razz

Well apparently Saint's Row for the 360 takes the GTA formula and improves on it, but I can't say for sure since I don't have a 360. Wink
