Here we have river otters that live in both river and ocean. They were almost hunted to extinction but the population has recovered fairly well. I saw a bunch on my last trip. They are smaller than ocean otters. Ours are skinner looking

I saw a seal IRL some days ago. Not far from land either. Never seen one exept in the zoo.

Bevers are the ones that build dams and flood areas. They have the tail. They are on some of our coinage.
River otters live in burrows in river banks and shores. Ocean otters eat by hitting shellfish on rocks on top of their stomachs. At night you can hear them go tap tap tap. It is really cool. They sleep by wrapping themselves up in kelp. |
Oh, I didnt know that. I thought they were like beavers.
Im surprised sharks dont eat them. They seem like a tasty meal for a shark  |

They don't live near sharks. (Dog sharks but not a problem) |
