I know many of you couldn't care less about American Football or the Madden NFL series or the PC version of the latest Madden installments, but this is something of serious note.

We are committed to shipping a limited number of our games on the PC this year, but we’ve also had to cut a few of our games from the platform." |

My take: Madden for the past years has been a crappy port of old-gen consoles, either because they were too bored to actually give us the current-gen engine X360 and PS3 get, or because they wanted 10-year-old PCs to be able to play their games (see FIFA 08 vs. PES 2008). So instead of giving the PC crowd their games (FIFA, NBA Live, Madden, etc.) with the new engines the "super-drool console" editions have, they respond to the constant complaints with dropping the series from the PC.
Yeah, just as much as everyone in the Ars Technica forums I couldn't care less about Madden. But that's no way to treat PC gamers. Soon enough we could be seeing the whole EA Sports franchise being non-PC. And many of you will say "I don't care, those games sucked anyway, EA is the suxx0rz!", but I have to disagree. If EA gave us current-gen games on the PC, they could actually be worth a shot.
My whole disappointment started when those console exclusives came out such as FIFA Street, which I loved on the XBox and had tons of fun with my friends. So first we have console exclusives of games that they don't even try to sell to PC gamers, and then we have whole franchises being dropped from the PC. I can't imagine only Strategy and FPS games being the only genres that PC'll have in a few or more years.
But wait, there IS auto-aim, ain't there? *Sigh*

Yeah, I imagined I'd get a shitload of replies from EA-haters or people that don't care about the EA Sports franchise.
Anyone want to actually comment?

Like anybody cares... I never liked this sport... And like Nui allready said, EA stop making new sport games for PC some years back, they just updated rooster and nothing else...

Ha,ha, about fucking time. Seriously ea doesn't care about the pc there games are crap and even more so one the pc because they are usually lame-ass ports, I actually have more respect for them now, it's better to release no product at all than a shitty one, they should stop making games altogether though, that would be perfect.
Madden was a great game on the pc for a long number of years but that was a loong time ago, before they payed a billion dollars!!!?! for exclusive rights (worst move the nfl ever made) and kicked the nfl 2k out of the picture and before the next-gen came along and they stuck pc with old-gen ps2 versions that where, you guessed it, shitty as hell because all the effort went into next-gen. This move clearly shows that they are incompetent for some reason to transfer the next-gen that pc fans wanted on the pc.
That being said they pulled the same stunt with nba live one year and didn't release it for the pc, a very shitty nba live it was too, so they will probably release madden for the pc again next year once they build a cheap porting machine that will badly port a next-gen version to the pc. There is quite a fan base for madden on the pc and as I read some comments right now they sound pretty pissed  "I will never buy another ea product ever again and I own an xbox360 as well" and the likes, ea doesn't know it yet but they will feel this one on their wallet.

EA keeps promising next gen graphics and gameplay in madden series (and also several of their other sports franchise). But never delivered.
I for one wont loose any sleep over this.

It is really not that hard to grasp. . .
I had fun in my hay day playing the game (In real life).
There's actually a lot of strategy to it. But i can understand it not being for everyone. Not everyone cares for soccer after all. I do love Aussie football and Rugby.
