A friend of mine is having a problem when he is trying to format hes computer.

He uses the Windows Xp cd to format with, but when it is done formatting it only shows his harddisk with 131GB, compared to the 250GB he payed for.

Any suggestions on what the problem might be ?

windows xp has problems seeing harddisk larger then 131gb, when installing windows.

That's why most people make partitions ;p

Use something that isnt the windows XP cd Wink! There are plenty of linux live CD's that would do the job far better, or other tools like partition magic.

he needs to install either severice pack 1/2 to get the right ammount of space.. i freaked out when i bought my 160 and it only showed 129... seems i remember using a patch after installing sp1 for it to update but im sure it will work without the patch.
