Yes, lost account = lose everything. But how you lose an account? Laughing Also, there is support, and if you can prove it is your account you will get it back.

You may want to verify that your account is Steam Guard protected in the settings from the Steam menu.

Not much to do other than that.

Beta updates aren't something you can toggle on and off, it's something you have to opt-in for each phase of the beta.

Nothing interesting in the current beta, it's just a few bug fixes: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1872667

To be able to add friends, you need to buy at least one game (free games don't count).

It will only install in ..\Steam\Steamapps, so reinstalling steam in the place you want it would be the easiest way to do it, though it is possible through the use of symbolic links to put it somewhere else.

As for turning on Steam Guard and all that, you can probably just follow the steps in the support article: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1266-OAFV-8478

I request you edit this post into a story about robocop riding a unicorn as we don't like to speak of steam back then. It was a horrible time of digital slavery and stupidity.

Ive did not discovered it now ofc. I had account for couple of years becouse I wanted to download some games years ago. Now Ive installed it again for DNF. Just thought I might ask experienced steam users for tips etc about usage Laughing

I am using cracks mostly even with games that Ive bought becouse I hate to be limited by drm, So I did not needed it. And prices there are riddiculously high.
But I guess I will play DNF in its original form for the sake of waiting for it all thet years and multiplayer! anyway... I would feel bad for screwing a king that is Crying or Very sad
