very bugged game... first I had this problem :
Start the game, get "insert reservoir dogs disk" message like I get when playing trackmania since I uninstalled this crappy game.. click cancel a few time and the game start but screen stay black with no error message. Managed to solve it by removing everything related to reservoir dog in the registry.
Then, I restart the game and cool it work I see the intro videos but when it get in the menu (can't see it) my both monitor flicker (I use dual screen but it don't happen usually in games) and the game crash (send error report to microsoft thingy).
BTW I have nVidia Geforce 7950

if you load it with asr.exe make sure its not in the scarface folder. not sure why, but when you do there are problems...

Its the only game this year ive played that just gives me an error in blah blah exe and quits back to destkop

I have no sound while playing, but have it while watching the movies...
Running dxdiag doesn't solve the sound problem.
Reinstalling drivers also doens't solve anything...

I'm talking about scarface too,.. just reservoir dog had fucked something and had a conflict with this game (and trackmania), but now it's solved but I still get the crash

Soundblaster live 5.1
No problems with other games.

I was able to play it once, but when i try to re-launch, I get to the last intro logo, then freeze at black and dump to desktop.
Too bad, I was having fun!
Can't even find a listing for the game at the Sierra support site,
even though the game is in stores.

A reboot seems to fix the black screen for me, now I can play again.
This time, after I first find the bank and launder money successfully, on the next mission, i lose all WASD functionality. I can only move with the numpad and I can't shoot or take vehicles.
LOL
This game rocks but it needs a patch YESTERDAY

fixed my black screen by lowering desktop resolution. after i was ingame, i lowerd AA and AF and changed back the desktop resolution.
but i still cant get past the first mission O_O, cause of freezes and errors

This fix helped me start the game
| Code: | I dont know if everyone is aware but when the game loads up (for 1st attempt) the Resloution is set to 1280 x 1024 by default. (many monitors dont support this res/hertz expecialy LCD types). If this is the case for you (check what your monitor supports) you may (only may) get a message stating something like " out of range" or "dosent support this refresh rate/ resolution" etc). There is a poss workaround for this percific issue that Tech_Guru has already posted in another thread. Here it is thanx to him/her
Click on start -> Run -> type in DXDIAG -> Click OK -> Select More Help along the top -> Click on Override -> Override Value set to 60 -> Click on OK and then Exit -> Try the game again.

Nor I. I can't even load into the game. Double click the icon, it just dumps to desktop with typical windows crash error box.
ANd I paid $49 to download this game direct from VU... go figure..

Read this post if you are having immediate startup crashes with Scarface.
I have been playing the game for a few days and suddenly one day it would no longer boot and would immediately crash at the start. I asked myself what had changed on my system recently that would cause it to crash.
Turns out I had changed what controllers I had plugged in. For whatever reason a joystick plugged in would crash Scarface. After going to the control panel and removing the joystick from the list of game controllers the game once again works perfectly.
Try removing your game controllers and see if that solves your start problem.

Okay, it looks like I may have also solved the random lockups I was experiencing.
I turned off antialiasing and anisotropic filtering and played for hours today without a problem. Not sure if this info will help anyone else. My vid card is a Nvidia 7900 GT OC 256 MB.
It is the only game I have problems with.

game wont even try and open for me. i try and load with asr.exe and it just does nothing no crash no black screen just does nothing. even tried to load with normal exe to get an error and still nothing.
