No, i would go with 32bit, 64bit gives you no advantages on the desktop at the moment, and the driver situation is still better with 32bit.

I just install on a spare HD. And yes 32 bits is the best option for now.

i found a crack for it. Why would i need a crack? i have a serial and downloading the cd as we speak. I tried to run it under XP just to see what it did, it said my kernell32.dll image was bad or corrupt (normal because it's not the windows he expected). do i have to apply that crack? what does it crack? Smile would be nice to have some answers Wink thx for any help

Legal key + copied windows cd is perfect Smile guess i'll have to break in in an office complex when vista is released to copy the keys from the stickers on the computers Very Happy

well i had some problems installing drivers (i have a siemens desktop and the drivers are installed through a siemens setup ) but after messing around for a while in the device manager (needed to find it first Very Happy) i managed to get sound and wifi. probably going to check games out tonight after i install the last gfx drivers.
The windows needs a lot of tweaking tho. a lot of extra warning screens and error reports and stuff like that must be disabled because it's very annoying.
Will probably try Counter Strike: Source tonight if i have some time (which is not sure).

The thing that annoyed me the most was the fact that VI doesn't ask to format your disk when you install it (or i missed it). It detected an old windows on disk C, and it just renamed that one to windows.old and installed vista. i wanted a clean format but that wasn't gonna happenn with VI aparently.

Booting goes pretty fast (like any windows does after being just installed) and the aero skin looks nice and doesn't cause any slowdowns (yet).
IE is pretty hard ot work with because you don't see the stop and refresh button at first (firefox ftw )

Windows Media Player 11 beta runs slower on VI than on XP. I put all my music in the "My Music" folder, he automatically ads them to the library but that took much longer than under winXP.

Those were my first impressions, will post again after i test some games.

(also, Office 2k7 beta seems to be out, going to grab that one aswell )

Most games I've tried runs great.
I got a key from MS, and I can't see any activation / timelimit.

System specs:
3500+
2gb ram
6800gt

I've used it for 2-3 days now, and so far there's no problems / bugs.
I'm never going back to xp again Very Happy

Edit:
Some good and bad news. Sad
The bad news are, Windows Vista just formated my 200gb disc Sad
The good news are, now I got 200gb of free space Smile

I hate you.
