Sounds good! I assume that there will be "scene" releases of the PSX games should it be a pay to download service.. I wouldn't be supprised if there was no .iso support, but it would piss me off.. lots.

I have a little problem, when I put more than one .iso or.cso file insode the ISO folder PSP crashes when I try to load a game, sometimes it crashes when reading the UMD disc at the menu. I'm trying to emulate 2.71 using latest devhook. Do you guys have the same problem? And most of the games don't boot after selecting the UMD icon, it just goes to a blank black screen (e.g. Fifa 07, MEtal Gear Solid : Graphics Novel, Tekken and few more. All these games were clean iso's i think. I tried Metal Gear Acid 2 using a clean Iso didn't boot after selecting the UMD icon, just blank - black screen, but I tried the UMDRip that one worked. After seelcting the UMD icon in the menu, the PSP stops reading the memory card after a while. Can it be a memory card problem? I'm using Pro Dua 2GB.

I myself am going to stick with the 1.50FW. But since I'm getting a PS3 I might just by another PsP and upgrade that one to this so called new firmware just for the PS3 compatibility.

MAC Address locking can be done since it was proved by Fluff that deved the PSIX betas. Ugh. Since you had to pay for a copy of his homebrew and he locked it to your MAC address. |
Pah! that wont stop people ! Your no doubt correct about the ability to use ISO's, but I can assure you that mac address lock downs wont stop piracy.. Someone will simply create a MAC spoofer or find a way to change the mac address within the files.. Sony wont be able to do anything too complex on the fly.

Not sure, it could be your stick.. You may have one of those fakes that have been floating around, I hear they are not very reliable.. Did you get it from EBAY shipped from one of the far eastern countries?
Personally Im on 2.71 now and having no issues at all..

Is there a way to tell whether it's fake or not?

Stick with 1.5 untill 3.0 is emulated... all this new stuff sony are putting in 3.00 will most likely lead to someone finding a new exploit (Eg via the GPS or PSX Emu etc etc)
2.81 is decrypted so I think Booster is just waiting till GTA VCS is released to release his version 2.81 Devhook

I bought it from Ebay but it was an UK seller and when i received it looked perfect. By the way it takes more than 10 minutes to transfer 1Gig using USP2. Is that normal?

I disagree, the files still need to be held on the MS, taking them off that is clearly no issue, the next step is to figure out how they are locked down (IF they are locked down..)..
I wont be buying a PS3 either, not unless sony pulls some big ass titles out of there ass that interest me.. GO X360!

if hes smart, yeah.
as long as sony THINK theres no way to emulate it, they'll feel safer releasing new games still relying on 2.8, so yeah... im HOPING thats the only reason its still not released.

Quote: | You guys really got into discussing the PSP-PS3 downloading issue when we first talked about it. It's a good thing that news changes over time, or we'd all probably be depressed by the apparent need to get a PS3 to download and play PS1 games on the PSP.
According to Game Daily Biz, earlier reports of the PS3 being required to get PS1 games were premature, as they were able to ask Peter Dille, SCEA's Senior VP for Marketing, for more information. It appears that you don't really need a PS3 to be able to download PS1 games because the PSP emulation plan, as well as the PSP downloads site for PS1 games, will still push through.
Let's take it straight from Peter Dille:
We have the PSP downloads site now, and you're right; these PS1 games will be available either from the PSP downloads site directly, so you don't need a PS3 to get them or if you do happen to be one of the lucky guys that gets a PS3, you can download the games to your PS3 hard drive and then slide it over to your PSP. Both services will be up and running.
Can we get an "Amen!" here? This is great news for those of us who'll have to wait to get a PS3 unit, and will definitely lessen the number of PS3-related muggings in the next few months. Thank goodness! |
Ok im happy again now ..
