xbox360 Fall update to be released tomorrow?

http://www.xboxic.com/news/1884

Gamefront.de says that Famitsu said that we’re going to get the Fall update tomorrow. This coincides with earlier rumors, claiming the exact same date. The Fall update will contain over 80 additional features including an overhaul for the Xbox Live Arcade and the Marketplace, 1080p and HD-DVD support and more. The report doesn’t say anything about the US and EU release of the update but sources tell us that this is a worldwide release.

This is what the Marketplace looked like in the beta for the update.
Microsoft will release its “Fall 2006 System Update” on 31.10.06 in Japan, according to a Famitsu report. The update is free and available to all Xbox Live members.

The update, among other things, improves Xbox Live Arcade and Marketplace functions, provides 1080p support, adds a start menu for XNA-developed games, adds HD-DVD player support and over 80 additional functions.

Microsoft is holding a press conference in Japan at which additional information will be provided.

They have to deploy the update in the near future because they will start selling the HD-DVD drives early in november, and for the 1080p support of hd-dvd's they need the update. I'm actually looking forward to the new features as i haven't flashed my drive Razz

oh well, the good thing about the firmware hack is that you can just flash the original firmware and you're good to go again, should they really have found a way to stop it.

I still doubt it though, there wouldnt really be a reason to modify the dvd drives to stop the firmware modifications if it was possible to do this so easily with a software update.

but it's all just speculations and rumors right now, so let's just wait and see.

There are going to be a lot of 360's on Ebay tomorrow, if the update prevents the FW hack from working...

Including mine.
