OK, so its getting close to that time of year when I! can get some stuff FOR ME! without the Mrs telling me to FOFF! Wink

Plan:
1-Dual core 2 E6600 or E6700
2-NV 8800GTX
3-ASUS P5B-E Plus, Socket 775
4- 2 GB Corsair XMS2 Dominator

My question is basically, what would be the alternative?

Stick with your Plan I say.. Nothing there can be improved on IMHO.

Get the E6600 if your budget is tight. The E6700 is 40% more expensive than the E6600 but not 40% faster Rolling Eyes This is the best you can get.

i7 3770k, GTX980, 16GB Ram, SSD Raid0, Internet 3rd world shit not worth mentioning

Go with 4gb if you are planning to run Vista (seriously).

WOW that will cost like almost 900E for just ram, well the XMS2 Dominator that is.
What would be a really good alternative to the Dominator...lets say 4 gig for around 500-600 bucks.
