Mick Garris'
Masters of Horror
Their wildest dreams are your worst nightmares
Quote: | Showtime brings you a shockingly entertaining new anthology series entitled Masters of Horror. For the first time, the most prominent directors of the horror film genre have joined forces to produce a series of new original horror films that promises to shock, terrify and captivate even the most discriminating horror film fans. |
------
Seasons: 1, 2, & 3.
Current Season: 2
------
Next Episode: "2x04, Sounds Like"
Directed by Brad Anderson.
Quote: | A man who has a job as a tech support supervisor spends his life listening to people all day. When his young son dies, he begins to develop a supernatural sense of hearing. As time goes on, this ability threatens to drive him insane and leads to some extreme behavior. |
Next Episode: "2x05, Pro-Life"
Directed by John Carpenter.
Quote: | Pro-Life tells the story of a young girl trapped inside a clinic who discovers the only thing more dangerous than her pursuers is the demonic secret that she carries within her. |

Well this show ran last year aswell but now Mick Garris is back along with plenty of horror directors to once again bring us the horror in season 2 of Masters of Horror.
"That Damn Thing" and "Family" contained both plenty of gore and scary moments and both were great season starters.

Well, Stephen King's Nightmares and Dreamscapes http://imdb.com/title/tt0481452/ has a Lovecraft-flavored episode (#2) about Cthulhu cultists and there's a CG shoggoth-like thingy that kills a guy. Actually the whole series is amazing unlike Masters of Horros.

If you're heavy into Lovecraft I very much recommend you check out "Call of Chtulhu", a silent movie made to fit the time period of the 1930s.
