God damn I just had to format my pc. The gigabyte site is as slow as hell. 12k a second is a piss take. It's taking ages for my sound driver to download.

On the upside I just bought a new keyboard. Generally I go for the cheap keyboards. This time I got a Packard Bell keyboard and it's a nice solidly built one. It was only a fiver too. Cheap at twice the price.

Same here. With secondary HD to back up C:, and all the drivers and apps I use, formating/reinstalling windows is a breeze.

I emailed Gigashite.

In this day with modern broadband connections. It's ridiculous to have to wait around about a hour because your download servers including the mirrors are so slow. If you want to keep myself and others as customers in the future you need to get it sorted. 12k a second for a 35mb file is a complete disgrace.

See if they get back to me.

Yeah you said it mark. Nearly as bad as Microsoft. Ever spoken to their telephone helpline? I had this German who couldn't form an English sentence. I'm suprised I got my explorer mouse. The address was totally wrong.

I shouldn't have to. I have a 10mb line. I can download at more than a Mb a second. Why should I put bs software on my machine because the halfwits at gigashite can't have decent servers. I've paid them for those drivers as well as the mobo and yet I cannot get them at a decent speed.

They are slow. I'm getting 120 - 150 KB/s using 5 connections. I'll upload the driver to rapidshare and post the link, maybe that will be faster.

btw. I'm not a fan of any extra download accelerator programs, but you really should try this. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/201/

The Nvidia site has got video drivers and it looks like chip set drivers and a butch of useless software.

http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

Theres lots of good sites to get drivers you need out there.

http://drivers.softpedia.com/progFinder

http://www.techspot.com/drivers/

http://www.dirfile.com/drivers.htm

http://www.opendrivers.com/

http://www.motherboard.cz/driver/

You should also try to get the name of your mainboard and then put that name into google, you will find lots of places to download the different drivers for that board.

I once found a piece of software that identified my hardware on new PCs i built and would automatically found the drivers on the internet.

That was a while ago thow, i have no idea what it was called.

Good luck.

Just the thought of ever having to format makes me sweat. I think that people use format too quickly to solve problems that can be solved in other ways. I have never reformatted a disk apart from a upgrade from win98 to xp. It takes me so long to get the computer set up the way I want it in terms of appearance and performance not to mention all the progs, updates and codecs that you have to download again.

Know how you feel :/ Got a Gigabyte motherboard myself and recently formatted a few days ago after installing 2 new sata drives, and couldn't find the motherboard CD so had to get all the drivers from the Gigabyte site, on average got anything from 8 KB/s -> 28 KB/s and also on a 10mbit line. It is really annoying, especially after you click the "Europe" link and expect "a little more".

I did deelix. That's how it only shows the single window. As i've just formatted I had to use Paint and that hasn't got a crop tool. Smile
