i've decided to use "Kasprasky" as antivirus
and "Sygate 5.5 pro" as firewall....

good decision?

Kaspersky us to much system resources but it is very good at finding the viruses. I should try nod32 antivirus as It's superiour in both virus finding and system resource usage. Instead of Sygate I would go for either Kerio or Tiny personal firewall but prefferable a hardware firewall like a router.

Never use kaspersky! A friend once suggested it since i got tired of norton and this anti virus (as good as it is for locating viruses) is malicious! It adds another stream to ALL your files thus creating issues while copying files from ntfs to fat32 and vice versa. Moreover, this antivirus is so 'fragile' that it causes so many bsods and system instability!

I hope you didn't install it yet since removing the streams without a format is very very difficult! (I had to copy all my hard drive to a fat32 partition for eliminating the secondary streams - it was a pain!).

Zonealarm with antivirus - free and with a small app you can remove that trial shit that appears every 30days or so.
