Official web page: LINK
Publisher: Mastertronic
Developer: Silverback Entertainment
Media type and size:
Genre: action
Release date: 13 October 2006
Description:
Quote:

‘Made Man’ is a third person action adventure that follows Joey Verola as he is indoctrinated into, and progresses through, the hierarchy of the most notorious crime organization in history; the Mafia. The storyline spans three decades of his life, from the horror of Vietnam to the urban jungle of Brooklyn, but it avoids the clichéd chronological constraints of many other games. Made Man has a very strong plot, with the missions written by best selling authority on the Mafia, David Fisher. David’s collaboration with retired Mafia caporigieme Bill Bonanno, a senior member of the Bonanno crime family, has ensured that each career step and mission is based upon authentic Mafia incidents. The involvement of these authorities gives an authenticity to the content of the game and also presents a considerable marketing opportunity.

Features:
Quote:

Features a storyline created by the famous Mafia author David Fisher and real life former head of the infamous Bonnano crime family, Bill Bonnano.

'Jump To Cover' mechanic allows the player to utilise the environment and the objects within it to avoid enemy fire.

PIP (Picture-in-Picture) gives the player the awareness of events going on elsewhere in the environment and enhances the player's experience with dramatic stylization

Dual weapons! Joey can dual wield any of the weapons simultaneously for double the carnage!

Melee weapons allow for bar room brawling style hand-to-hand combat, geared to downright thuggery. Using stealth, players can get up close and personal and perform 'Stealth Kills' on unsuspecting enemies.

Proprietary physics and 'rag doll' system - Dynamic environments allow the player to destroy his surroundings and enemies with realistic and utterly believable results.

17 rich and dynamic environments from the jungles of Vietnam to the streets of New York spanning the 60’s 70’s & 80’s.

Licensed music tracks from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s

Dolby 5.1 audio surround support guarantees total player emersion.

Oh, hang on, it was PCZone, the UK one, they`ve got the crap paper sleeves too, pity, I used to use them to put my downloaded DVD-R`s in Very Happy, either way, Made Man came across as a piss poor version of Mafia.

It it just me or is the pc game industry dieing slowly. Developers seem to really empathize the consol market.

It logical when you think about it, easiier for development on a standard platform

consoles are where the money is at. plus not eveyone has a gaming pc. so yes its common sense the pc is dying.
back in the day say for doom it didnt matter what kind of pc you had, anyoen could play the game. nowadays you need a kickass comp to play games decent. and ppl buy those dells n shit that come with integrated gfx that you cant play a damn thing on.

What The Critics Said:

51% - PC Format
There are a million and one better shooters out there. [Dec 2006, p.118]

45% - PC Gamer UK
Just as frustrating is the shoddy timing and placement of enemies. [Dec 2006, p.74]

39% - PC Zone UK
The problem's with the lack of inspiration or effort. [Christmas 2006, p.81]

PS2 and PC, that has to be the most retarded release scheme ever. If you're not going to make it exclusive to a particular platform and it's not next-gen then you at least release it for all the current gen consoles. You maximise the market then.

This way you might sell a few on the PS2 but it's going to look like shit on the PC. Idiotic developers and publishers.

No wonder the game is bollocks.

Weird!!! I don't really mind this game...i'm playing at 1028x768...runs smooth. I did a mini-review on another thread. I must just be so dissappointed in all the other hyped games, that I don't mind playing a little Max Payne type game......so yuff-up meatball heads and let Tony eat spaghetti!!!!!!!!!!!!BAM! You're DEAD!

the one in the middle of the mademan's pic looks exactly like sam in mafia o.O (his face for sure)

@jigsaw, you can always try to "force" AA (not using application preference in your drivers), has worked for me on games that didnt support/had it
