The World of Warcraft stress test beta is just a day away. Hundreds of thousands of gamers applied for the stress test this past week, and FilePlanet was up to the task, issuing over 100,000 accounts and providing the stress test beta client for download. With the signups and downloads complete, we are just about ready to welcome these gamers into World of Warcraft for the very first time.
Starting tomorrow, September 2nd at 12:00 noon PDT, stress test beta participants will be able to create their World of Warcraft accounts and begin playing the game. Their participation will help us optimize our account-creation and server infrastructure, and enable us to deliver the best online experience possible when the game launches later this year. We want to thank everyone who applied for the stress test beta, and we look forward to seeing the new testers online tomorrow when the stress test beta starts.

...Maybe you picked a bad server. Barely getting any lag here. Also anyone know what the X next some servers mean? I picked one that didn't have one.

um maybe i picked the first one had the most people in it too..gues il try it with the lowest amount..the char making is all kool and stuff...damn big world too.

I played for about 20 minutes and then i realized somthing. Cant developers come up with somthing new for combat other than right click on the enemy and wait 2 minutes while you automatically attack and kill it?

That happens in most MMORPG games. I was watching my friend play Final Fantasy XI and the same thing was happening to him. The thing wasn't even near him and it was hitting him.

I got itno the stresstest, and i must say that i really enjoy it, still alittle confusing but i guess i get used to it wasnt much lag where i played....
cant remember name on realm.

It would be nice if it was more interactive. But they have to create a combat system that isn't affected by lag.

I;ve been playing it for awhile now, maybe you should actually play the game before making a statement about it. Theres many types of combat skills, I am a rogue and I open up a fight by sneaking in and using an ability called Garrote, which does massive dmg and DOT's them, then I charge up my combo points with sinister strike, execute a frontal stun, get behind the mob and backstab it, then when its low health I execute an assasination technique using all the combo points i've save up to do maximum damage....yeah the combat is more involved then click attack, so next time try playing for more then 20 minutes before posting that the combat sucks.

Yep, pure Diablo 2 nubs saying that.
The WoW world will be INVADED with D2 nubs, that's why I'm a bit scared the community turns out like the CS community, but oh -well...
