so their forums are completley useless as trillian has the most useless support EVER. Anywho, I haven't been able to use direct connect since I got a router and even then I have the ports fowarded. It SOMETIMES connects but only if I'm lucky. Any ideas? btw I'm using the LINKSYS WRT54G

The other side might be firewalled too. Check if DC always works with the same other client.

I've tried other AIM clients and those work without having to have ports forwarded
