Looks kinda like a fingermark, like someones pressed very hard on the screen and left an imprint permenantly. If it is a fingermark, I don't think it's possible to get rid of it as the LCD will be damaged. But as Eliz says, try to clean it first in case it's just some kinda dirt Smile although the shape of it and that it's in straight lines kinda makes me think it's a fingermark.

Deleted all the childish comments.

I have come across a site where it shows how to bring back damaged dead pixels. It may be of some use to you, but it's not quite the same symptoms so I reckon that you're screwed.

Still might be worth looking for the said site.

One trick i've used is first powering the monitor on, then place your finger over the screwed up pixel. Power off the monitor, then press ur finger down for about 30 seconds.

Theres also a nice lil proggie out there that you can try using for dead pixels. Forgot the name but if u google it you'll find it.

Isn't the outer plastic cover not just marked. Is it possible to remove it and get a new one. In the mean time use one of those anti glare screens to cover it.

Just a thought. Looking at it theres certainly no damaged pixels.
