I've downloaded the Goldeneye mod (the beta that was released the other day) but i can't get it to work with my cracked HL2. Is there any way to play the game or is a bought version of HL2 the only way to go?

Never even looked at that mod, but I would guess you can't play it with a crack as the cracked.exe compiles differently then the orig. Meaning that the Mod will not be compatible. Maybe if U get a clone of HL2 or somet...don't know if there is one though.

The only Steam ripped version of Half Life 2 that you can install mods onto is the 'Jaxor' release that came out in April or May of 2006.

Google the following:

Half Life 2 + Counter Strike Source + Day of Defeat Source + Deathmatch + Lostcoast + Metastasis 2

I hope I didn't break the rules here. Just trying to help.
