Thanks, I burn all my verbs at 4x (2.4 sertificated). Nice to know it works with 4x on Mirror too. Don't really believe 8x is the best for 360 games Razz

they work fine for me at 4x in my nec 7170s, used aone before but they have gone downhill (last couple of tubs had 100% coaster rate).

interesting issue this, the burner seems to make a real difference.

I use two makes.

First is a DL+ Ri-media, dirt cheap about £9.00 a tub for 10.

Second is Verbs, but cost around £20.00 inc delivery.

Both work fine, but for the releases I'll play a lot, eg: Orange Box I'll use Verbs everything else the cheap stuff.

As an experiment I tried my Panasonic 112D against my NEC.

The Panasonic works flawless, with either brands. The NEC is not so good with the cheap media, but ok with the Verbs.

So I guess it's a combination of factors at work here.

Oh yeah, tired discs on iextreame 1.2 Hitchai 47D 360. I always patch all my games with Mulleter, and not 100% scene releases.

Verbs work fine, even on my laptop Razz

Guess the problem with the burner comes to the brand then.
Notice my laptop use a little onger time to finalize it.

I tried these on recomendation from a friend,

Bought 5 mirrors and all 5 worked flawlessly so i decied to ditch verbs in favour of mirrors due to the lower cost of them ,
So bought 2 packs of 10 , 1st pack all 10 game worked great , second tub of ten, all ten gave me dirty disc error.

So have now gone back to verbs , i know verbs are more expensive but have had 100% sucsess rate with them , shame really as the 1st 15 mirrors were fine , might have been a bad batch who knows, but 10 faliures was not acceptable for me.

Just my 2 cents Smile

Ill just burn quality games with verbs then. Games I dont care that much with mirror.
They don't fuck up your burner or anything. Heard about people getting dirty disck error after 20-30 burns Surprised

Yeah I know... first I got all my verbatims in stores in Germany(mostly REAL). It was like 20verbatims for 40euro. But after some time they are sold out every time I check there.

New lasers for Sammy/Hitachi drives are cheaper than a pack of discs, very easy to fit too.

isnt this whole disc-destroys-drive-laser thing a myth?
like how should a disc damage a laser in any way? only thing that can happen imho 1. it gets dirty of all your dusty discs or 2. the media just isnt supported by the drive

the worse quality the disc, the harder the laser tries to read it. therefore, reducing the life span of the laser.

So guess the burner have something to say afterall Razz

Burned 8 games with my laptop, all verbs. Completed/played trought all of them, never any error etc. Tried the first Mirror disk. "Looks linda similar to the Verb" Got to 45% (so before layer change) made som strange sounds and popped out saying it failed. Will try my NEC tomorrow. Using CloneCD. The differense between CloneCD and imgburn can't really matter that much?

Ratatouille_PAL_XBOX360-iNCiDENT, btw Razz

mm ok ... poor lasers Crying or Very sad

thx for explanation Very Happy

what i have to add to this whole which-media-thing:
PGR4 with memorex = 2 times burned (2,4x and 1x) = "dirty disc" at loading (everytime i tried except one Confused )
with verbatim = no error till now (2,4x)

No problems burning verbs at more than that.

Anyway, 2nd burn worked just fine Very Happy
Burned Sega Rally. This time 2x speed and imgburn
Can try these settings with Ratatouille_PAL_XBOX360-iNCiDENT, but afraid to lose another DVD.
My brother really wants to try that game, lol Razz

Edit: Ratatouille, Sega Rally and Juiced 2 works like a charm Very Happy

2x with imgburn did the trick. Strangely enough iv never had a problem with CloneCD. It might be because I burned at 4x. And the combination of burning with a DL DVD rom on a laptop + Mirror isnt that great. Not a single dirty disk error as for now.

Want to try out 4x, but seems like the verbs are more fitted for that. Well as long as the mirrors doesnt give me stupid errors ingame, im happy.

For 360 I remember reading on DVDForum that Clone DVD is more reliable. Can't verify this though.

If you've got Mulleter you don't need anything else.
