Technically no it's not abandonware, downloading an abandon ware game is still against the copyright of the game. Infact just last year Electronic Arts renewed their rights over the game.

I hate that, like Lucasarts, it's ilegal to downlaod eny of their games not matter the age on them, tehy are a member off Entertainment Software Association ( ESA). I hate that evry game shoud be free for downloat 15 years after the game came out.

I agree and yet some developers aren't so greedy. They release their games when they have no further resale value.

Yeah there were some good games that were released for free after a few years.
Tribes and Tribes 2 I think and also Ground Control, and I'm sure there are more I don't know about.

id Software found the expansion for shadow warrior after all these years finally and their offering it for free, and downed the price of SW itself down to 10 bucks isntead of 20, I really dont see WHO is going to buy that game for 10 bucks.

Can strongly recommend the Steel Panthers remakes for anyone who likes TBS.

er ya 3d realms is what I meant, the company that made the EXP went under and the copy was lost, founder of the EXP ended up finding it and sent it to 3d realms. You can download it free from their site.

not exactly why someone would buy a game they'd have to run with a 3rd party app. unless of course your still using windows 98 o.0
