|

I used the search feature which I discovered is as useless as 37 cents at a mall. And wasnt about to search through 37 pages of games containging "boiling point" as a topic title...which didnt even exist on teh first 6 pages.
SO ANYWHO...
I see atari was on this game but actually looks and sounds fun....was it? I had no idea about it's existance untill a few minutes ago.

It was a bug-filled piece of crap when it was originally released. It got a couple of patches which fixed a lot but not really enough to ever allow it to live up to its lofty potential.

It could have been a great game but the bugs and performance issues killed it for me..

Yeah it had great potential, multiple parties to join, gigantonormous area to play in, vehicles, skill system and it even was an ego-shooter. So yeah, go try it.
If you really like some game you can see over its bugs, as is the case with Gothic 3 for me.

It was great imo. I only had 2 bugs in the 30+ hours i spent with it. One was a graphical glitch when you were flying and another was something with a car (cant remember what it was now).
But it was a really good/fun game, great "level" design and the performance was very good for such a large, free roaming world (some ppl had performance issues, i didnt). Games like this is very rare (mix between GTA/Deus Ex) so i think it's definetly worth spending some hours with it.
It was a bit rushed yes, like most games. Extremly underrated game imo.

The steering was sucky (bugged imo as sometimes it turned faster than other times) - Sometimes the weapons didnt swap when I tried to. People didnt answer when I tried to talk to them. There are walls I could walk straight through.
And the game itself was quite unoptimized too.

Haha, and I had this one (Don't know if its a bug, but I guess it was, because it only happend once :/) When I started the game one time (New game) First thing that happens is that a little kid (or something small , a dwarf maybe ? haha) comes chasing after me and killing me with a gun :/ I was like "wtf???" This was the first time I ever played the game.
Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

I installed it a month ago and played a lot.
Its nice with all the patches and the fixes you can read about in the official forum.
Game ran fine at 40 fps with very little bugs.
I hate you.

the environment reminded me alot of postal which I hated. NPC's move like flash man, theres no smoothness in their path finding. Played for 10 minutes adn couldnt handle anymore.

The environment is quite repetetive. Although the map is really large, every third way and street uses the same predefined layouts.

When it first came out it played like shit on my machine although most other games played fine, so I tried it again when I had a new computer with patch 2.0 and still didn't like it.
Just Cause already proved that a large gaming world is not necessarily combined with sucky graphics and low framerates, but even Boiling Point's gameplay is a real mess. At an early point in the game I had to enter a mansion but the intercom at the gate wasn't working (bug?) so I had to blast my way in. Sunbathers at the pool didn't move as I was shooting the guards and still had a chat with me. After having a friendly conversation with the person that lives there the guards would not attack me anymore, but I still heard shouting that they would get me. Going out of the mansion there was apparantly no way to open the front gate, so I had to take the back route again. Coming back at the front gate the intercom did work and the gate opened.
Anyway, driving a car sucks, driving a boat sucks, flying a plane sucks and I didn't bother with the rest. People start shooting at you for no reason which ruins most of the missions that I tried to play anyway.
This game had great potential but it ended up as a crappy piece of shit, I would recommend to stay away from it.

I mean the design of playing in one enormous level, the open gameplay, the storyline, ... this game had potential. It's a pity that they fucked it up.

Legend Lives Addon
- Story/Description:
Quote: | It takes place some time after the events of the original game. The main character addon-man named Fred Fuslero. His appearance at Columbia in the early stages is a mystery to himself. Apparently Fuslero much like Saul Myers. His even take over Myers. Play begins with what Fred is, if you will, in a plantation Botanica. Near GG cell checks found a strange idea of the game is based more explicitly legend and mystery stone Ksenus highlight his true value. "The Legend Lives" also will be the point of all Ksenus-game series from "boiling points" and "The Great War" to "Xenus2". Play is a complete separate product with a totally new story, games, locations, characters, etc. Consequently, the, new opportunities player. It is now possible to buy a permanent site. Moreover, buying a villa was necessary for a story. Added destroyed facilities (filling), the new airport operator changes were technical characteristics of weapons and some vehicles. Now almost every "barrel" used its ammunition. For example, the automatic Steyr Aug no longer come from the rifle cartridge. The helicopter had developed "Dragonfly" remedy-gun. He still drives with four hits, but now you can, at least, stupid. Also added small-calibre rifle. Melkashka looks like SVD, but uses a different cartridge 5.45 antenna and has other options. For virtually useless in the game machine Famas, now RPK machine gun. RPC is the same AK-47, only a rapidfire, less accurate and the business to 200 rounds. The "new" weapons made of the minor. One feature of the game is that the game now has no defined end. So, with the end of major storylines figure game continues. That was the case, for example, in the GTA. Changed and approach to the main story of the game. The longer duration addon few original games. Acquiring some missions has extensive structure. During a game, now will be times when it is not always evident where to go and what to do in order to continue fictional line. Now players will be at about from mission to mission. Sometimes you want to do something side, buy a villa, for example, or talk to the people in the streets of cities. Changes were many other, smaller aspects of the game. The list of all the no sense. It noted in particular that the system was changing relationship with the factions (more depends on the dialogues), a host of civil quests, expanded transportation : taxi and bus operator, I might add, that addon will focus on several different audience than the original game. Game devoted fans, and hence some changes. There will be a lot of twists, will have to travel ... |
- Features:
Quote: | * A new, more complex and unpredictable, video game
* 2-3 times longer original retrofit Card
* Some new skins motor vehicles
* New weapons modified game options (purchase villas, buying military helicopters)
* New Locating (largest airport)
* Lack end of the game (after the game storylines branch does not end) |

Xenus is Boiling Point, probably just another name used in Russia. The executable to run Boiling Point is Xenus.exe .
