What ever happened to that ridiculous deafening schreech in games like Zelda?

I like it though, I would just add some controller vibrate tempo to match the sound of the heart beating, immersion. Seems like a cool idea for fighting games, opposed to 'health bars'. Instead of always watching the hb, you could instead become immersed by focusing on the fight even more clearly.

Haha yeah, sometimes it's good. I've been seeing it in a lot of games now. I wonder which one has done it the best so far.

Well in Fight Night 3 you can see the state of your health solely through the appearance of the character and how they move. It's great and should be implemented in all fighting games.

Add Tomb Raider Anniversary to the list of annoying hearbeat games.
