because before i go and buy a GF8 i need to know if it is worth to go buy one now or wait

i had an ATI before.... and i went back to nvidia by buying a 7950GT...weeks ago

What kind of argument is that? Price won't go down even if the R600 will be presented at CeBit. The 8800s are the currently fastest cards you can get, if you want top performance you get one (or two) of those. DX10 compatibility is a nice bonus.

r600 will obviously be faster than the 8800, amd wouldnt be dumb
that will force nvidia to come up with another solution, thus making 8800 go down on price
it all depends on how bad one needs a new gpu, in this dude's case its obviously not bad since he owns a 7950gt

The 8800s won't go down in price since nVidia will release the 8600 and 8200 for the low-budget crowd.

no need to get in panic mates;)...all of this games, will work very well on windows xp and on direct x9 cards no need to do crazy upgrades by now .
in my case...i chage graphic card - only when there is good game that i like and the card can't run the game-for example-the card that not support vs3.0 and splinter cell da (not that i like the game so mutch, but its good way to clear the point). |

off topic again but surely that runs in single channel then?yeah I cant comment ontopic becuase afaik all the games mentioned are the only ones in the near future(well some wont be here anytime soon though thats for sure). who wants a dx10 COH when already played it do death?

I'm going G8, no matter what ATI releases. I've bought new computer every two nVidia generations starting with TNT2, GeForce 2, GeForce 4600Ti, GeForce 6800GT, and now hopefully 8800, and this combination has NEVER failed me...so...no reason to wait here, Age of Conan is reason enough to purchase the card.
Sorry of offtopic, but felt you need a good reason to buy G8 so there's one I guess

*sometimes during a conversation, some other issues are coming up ,that somehow connected to the main topic and it makes the conversation rich and intresting and you may learn abit more then you expected from that topic.

Because you won't spend the rest of your life with it/her anyway. GFs constantly nag, are high maintenance, and crash badly for no reason at all occasionally, might as well get a little money for it/her and wait for one that perfectly suits you and is cheaper as well!
I don't know whether he was talking about GirlFriends or GeForces, but it goes for both.

yah GF makes even more sense ... sell that now... i can even give you the number of this guy who goes to jail bi monthly, he has friends in futureshop and can get you any computer part for like half price... a service i can't take advantage for obviouse reasons... EVERYONE WINSSS
