It seems that Wiinja is already outdated even before its release. Fedex dropped a nice little gift for us today to review. Say hello to CycloWiz!
Here is what we know so far about this chip:
- Quicksolder (no wires required)
- Plays Wii Backups
- Plays GC Backups
- Play GC Homebrew
- Play GC Imports (swap needed)
- Built-in Audiofix (GC games using streaming are working flawlessly, no patch needed)
- DVD-R / DVD+R support
- Optional chip disable wire
- Stealth even when chip is enabled
- Multi-purpose LED
The chip is supposed to be shipped by the end of the week, so in fact this may be the first "real" Modchip to reach the market!
It looks like a very pro and easy to install solution! We're not sure Wiinja has built-in audiofix, but this is definitely a must-have feature. Expect a review soon, including a video of the installation process!

Because maxconsole.net received today this modchip, and not the other one (which, by the way, is just a PIC… weird for a modchip).

Because maxconsole.net received today this modchip, and not the other one (which, by the way, is just a PIC… weird for a modchip). |
There's already a GCOS build for Wiinja, so it's indeed real. The first PS1 modchip was also a PIC chip. Just because it's simple doesn't mean it won't work. Now if i just could get a hold of the hex code...

Quicksolder is just the term meaning it's a rebuild and no wires needed. Although I would say the wiinja is a much easier install.

yes but the profit they get from he console is crap. They need the profit from the software and it seem some dark day's for the wii are coming up. |

my PS2 is modded and I still buy games... I have bought all my 360 games... The thing is they sell the games at a far to high price £40 - £50 per a game is just too much for some people.. Before you know it after buying 3 games its already cost you another £130 - £150!!!

thats the main reason why i'm not buying, get 10 DL disks for 30e,dLd,burn,play
how simple can it be and if those greedy bastards loose couple of millions i don't care,drop price to 20-30e and more ppl whould get them,well i'll still be getting those verbatims tho  |

Modding, downloading, burning ... long and boring.
There's not enough game out for me to mod my Wii yet. For the few games that are interresting, I can buy them. By the time enough games will be out so that I can't buy them all, better modchip will be released ( if not firmware updates ) with support for hard drive. (So that I won't damage the optical part of my console.)

Doubt all you want, I know I would buy a game if it cost £20 and had quality written all over it not all of us here are on a mega salary like you buddy so if something is worth it why not? I can justify paying THAT much for a game plus I can ebay it when im bored of it

I agree with Godlikez. The price of games and DVD's is a piss take.
Especially considering that the games industry is worth more than the film industry now.
£20 for a Wii game sounds about right for a healthy profit.

developers actually see about 3 quid per game sold, the situation needs to be sorted with publishers for prices to be lowered and that will never happen

Well then the developers need to get publishing themselves and if that's not possible they need to broker new deals.
If they stopped developing then the major console makers would have problems.
As it stands the consumer is the one getting hit in the pocket and basically that is just plain wrong.

The "Next-gen" game-prices are a real rip-off! 50% off before I even consider to buy a game for those consoles (At least Xbox360). Only Really really "must have games" will get a buy from me.. and they aren't that many really (None right now).

I think the major problem with the Wii is the price of the games especially when the console is aimed at a younger audience... How many 10 year olds can afford a game costing £40 - £50???... For me and most others on here a Modchip is the only way but I will still buy good games (Eg I buy all the GTA Games and Xbox 360 games and some PS2 games..)
If the games came down to £15 - £20 each then I would buy them all.
