Wheres the 'i'm falling asleep with total boredom playing this game - going round and round and round a racing track is not my idea of fun smiley' ? Smile

Seriously, what is it about racing games that some of you lads enjoy?

i am askin another question:

what the hell is the 300-600 mb games rain that came during the last few days?
is there a new rule ,that stop game creators from doing the job well?
or..is it just cause they are abit lazy?
or just bad mood lately lol

now i will not be surprised if crysis and bioshock will come on one cd with 250 mb or maybe 420 rofl?

what the hell is going on ? Very Happy

from all the one cd games that came during the last few dyas , i have found my self playing little puzzle games like barrel mania and chroma way..only 12-20mb games but mutch better.

A dev from another site(not from this game):

Quote:
There is an illusion that games must be huge to contain a lot of content. Rather than inflate the game's download size to convey an illusion of a lot of content, I instead have always chosen to compress as much as possible to keep download size small

It is funny really that if the game is 10-700 Mb,almost everyone thinks it sucks and the GFX must be bad(everyone does have their opinion naturally, even of the GFX).

I quite enjoy this one,sure it's not NFS,but it's fun.Smile
You can adjust the handling to your liking, which is a plus in my book.

No imageshack links today since the site decided to be a little bitch.

The game starts with you having to enter a name and how you'd like to look. I chose a woman because that way I have an excuse for shitty driving. Hawhawhaw.

http://paintedover.com/uploads/show.php?loc=0716&f=lasr_20070526_02395506.jpg
http://paintedover.com/uploads/show.php?loc=0716&f=lasr_20070526_02395892.jpg
Then we get to choose between two cars. It's obvious which car I'll pick.

After that the game asks if you want to watch the intro, which is a series of screenshots with music and some subtitles. Something about racing and becoming the queen of something or other. I didn't know LA was in England.

Plenty of options to screw around with. Noise and Contrast are on in all these shots, but are merely eyecandy. Candy made of rocks. Filled with cyanide. So turn it off.

You can either play singleplayer, timetrial, quickrace or multiplayer. We'll select singleplayer because we're lonely nerds without any friends.

http://paintedover.com/uploads/show.php?loc=0716&f=lasr_20070526_02424732.jpg
Here's one of 4 spots you can hang out and wait for other drivers to challenge you. Sometimes you get drive-by insulted by guys way out of your league. Bastards. I'll show them!

http://paintedover.com/uploads/show.php?loc=0716&f=lasr_20070526_02431023.jpg
Oh look somebody challenged us. You can wager tuning parts, or even pink slips in these races. Interesting enough that's the only way to actually get new parts and cars. I'm a chicken so I won't bet anything right now.

Doriftuuuuu! You can save replays, use slowmotion and various cameras.

Performance is what I'd expect from a 350mb game running on a C2D with 8800GTS, music ranges from rock over hiphop to techno-house style. My gamepad is still fucked, so I'm using keyboard controls, but it works. Cars handle somewhat realistic. Overall a fun racer, multiplayer should keep me entertained for a bit.

Yeah! they'd have added a 300 songs soundtrack and 50 hours of CGI movies to make it DVD size. That should turned it out to a better game for sure!

........

Very nice review vespa.

Downloading. Hope handling is good.

A homemade short-film (It's a dramatical experimental videoclip-style short, has nothing to do with games!):

I've played this game via SkillGround, and it felt great. Gfx is decent, but handling is way much better than in crapon.
It's totaly worth downloading, since it's only 300+ MBs.

Info is wrong, now I got all excited:

Published by: Groove Media Inc.
Produced by: Octagon Entertainment Inc.
Developed by: Invictus Games

So it's an Invictus game after all, if it's anything like street legal (hopefully same engine) this will rock! Testing ->

edit: seems like same engine with damage in minium setting. GFX is upgraded a lot and engine polished around. Haven't yet upgraded, but that is propably removed the way it was in Street Legal (you had to literally change part and tyres your self).

Couple screenies:

Mind you, this 300MB game expands to 800+ MB, so don't be quick to be put off by its download size.

msnes: Yep and Street Legal, Street Legal: Redline & 1nsane.

AndreaSpooky: what was wrong with DirRT?

Anyways, the small size can be seen in track amount (you have to drive the same 2 alot before new are available) and there is like 2 songs? xD Other than that, quite fun little game that you can take a quick session to fill you need for speed without Crapon Smile

beside the fact it doesnt seem a racing game (not even mentioning "rally"), that it has no physics, no scalable graphic engine to be enjoyed without a GesusForce9 and has really crappy controls... nothing. its really a nice game.

AndreaSpooky: fair enough Smile

silengate: I took that from the game's readme Smile And this is what reads on the first screen (bottom) when you start the game.

Game reminds me a lot of Live For Speed, and that's really a good thing. The handling is really enjoyable, and the graphics, if you're not a gfx-whore, are quite decent. I'm really enjoying this game, and it'll be a good time-waster until any summer goodies arrive.
